Bab 46: The depths of her determination

Last night's events left Lucifia with a pain in her chest that she could not bear, so she locked herself inside of a random and unused guestroom to not witness the confrontation that will surely break her heart even further.

Serving as the only solace in Lu's self-isolation is Hauche who can feel Lu's pain and is doing her best to soothe it by nestling herself close to the dejected archdemon.

It does very little to help though because Lu's still thinking of a way to save Melissa.

And as much as she wants to disregard Melissa's feelings in favor of saving her life, she can't bring herself to do it again. Not because she's tired, but because she wants to respect Melissa's decision and honor her request of wanting to quietly end things between them.
