Bab 23: Chapter 23 [Warning 18+]

As they entered the shelter, Charlotte was the first to settle in, taking the far right side. With no other option, Emma reluctantly took the center, leaving Jeff on the left.

Once they lay down, Jeff immediately realized he had been right—the shelter was far too small for three people. Lying side by side and all facing upward, the space felt even more cramped than he had anticipated.

Hours passed, and Jeff found himself unable to sleep. He kept his gaze steady, glancing discreetly at the others to see if they had dozed off.

Feeling restless, he shifted onto his side, turning to face the center of the shelter. At almost the same moment, Emma who was equally uncomfortable, mirrored his movement and turned in his direction.

The two pairs of wide-open eyes stared at each other in the dim light. Suddenly, Charlotte, fast asleep, shifted in her spot. Her slight movement nudged Emma toward Jeff, startling her.
