Bab 32: Ambush
(POV Cyrus)
"Ahh~ that was good!" I said as sat down next to the eggs along with the duo.
^It… It was nice to help make our meal…^ Noir admitted as he scraped the leftovers from his bowl.
^Geo! Yes, and it tastes better with rock boss calls basalt!^ Dwayne said as crunched on some rocks.
"So Lyra the eggs should be hatching soon right?" I said in an excited tone.
<Yep should be hatching sometime tomorrow!>
"You guys hear that? You'll be big brothers soon, so you two better be a good example!" I said in a happy and playful tone.
^YEAH!^ The rock floated high and pumped his fist into the air.
^I… I'll do my best!^ Noir said flustered as he stared at the eggs.
(Man this family is growing bigger and stronger every day… I wonder how it'll be when it's Logan's turn to join it…) I wondered with a small tear on my face to which I hurriedly put the mask on to hide.
^…Are you okay ma-… dad your aura changed to a sad one…^ Noir nuzzled my arm as Dwayne continued celebrating.
"…I'm fine don't worry…" I petted noir as the thoughts faded away.
*GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
An ear piercing screech echoed through the cave along with an earthquake that shook the cave.
My eyes widened as parts of the cave started collapsing.
^WHAT^ Geodude shouted.
I instinctively grabbed Noir and launched myself over the eggs before I shielded them under me as the cave collapsed on us.
^KKYYYYUUUU^
<Subzero cradle-1>
I grind my teeth as I put up a barrier of ice around us as we got buried under a pile of debris.
^BOSS! NOIR! WHERE ARE YOU?! WHO ARE YOU- AAAAHHHHHHHH^
*GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH*
Dwayne's shouts were muffled by a roar that sent the debris above us flying along with us.
"SHIT!" I shouted as I grabbed the mid-air eggs and Noir pulling them close to me as we rolled away.
"LYRA THE EGGS!" I ordered as we were about to crash into the cave wall.
<On it!> She said as the eggs got engulfed by a panel seconds before impact.
The barrier then crashed into the wall shattering it into tiny particles of ice.
I slowly got up stumbling with a dizzy and nauseous head as Noir took out the Odogaron armor along with the Pukei-pukei hammer.
"Damnit I should have eaten lunch later… never mind I shouldn't have eaten at all…" I mumbled as I tasted breakfast in my throat.
"Where's the fucker that decide to mess with us!" I angrily shouted as I flicked my wrist cocking my gun before I pulled out a Neo knife.
*RRRRRHHHHHHAAAAA*
The creature in response launched and embedded a knocked out Dwayne into the wall next to us.
<^"Dwayne!"^> All three of us shouted as I along with Noir ran over to Dwayne to see his condition.
But before I could react a large jaw snapped its fangs at me.
"AAAAHHHHH!" I wailed in pain as it rag-dolled me like a dog with its favorite bone by my abdomen.
<CYRUS!>
"DAMN YOU BASTARD!" I cursed as I continuously shot out rounds from the gun aimed at the creature's glowing green eyes through the dust cloud.
^MASTER!^ Noir shouted as he swung and threw his hammer at the beast.
*GGRRRAAHHH*
The creature's roar blasted me to the side as its neck got slammed by the giant hammer.
"HEAL-*Bloody cough*… Dwayne and *Cough* put him in the subspace… and star-… start protocol 12…" Red leaked out of my mask as I felt blood flood my lungs.
<Don't worry leave it up to me!> Lyra reassured me as she healed us and a panel flew towards the lake.
"Soak this fool!" I said with renewed strength from all the potions as Dwayne was teleported to the sub-space and the mana gun emitted electricity.
<ON IT!> She said as pressurized water got pumped out of a panel clearing the dust and showing us the battle.
My eyes widened as I saw what creature ambushed us.
"ABORT THE PLAN! STORE NOIR NOW!" I said as I saw a Tigrex brutally ram its claw as if it were a fist at Noir whose armor was heavily damaged.

I quickly put the gun away and threw as many Neo knives as I could in such a way that the cave would collapse on the beast.
Once I saw Noir getting engulfed by a panel I quickly bolted to the exit as my right hand released a red wave of energy.
*GRRRAAAAAAAHHH*
The Tigrex roared as it charged forth clumsily flying over the lake and straight at me.
"KABOOM MOTHER FU-" My curses on the beast were deafened as the kunai's exploded and chunks of stone rained down on the beast.
*BBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM x30*
"Ha...ha… that should kill it…" I heavily panted as I laid my back on a wall and stared at the collapsed entrance to the cave.
(The hell is a Tigrex doing here they should be down in the rotten vile… ah it must have been lured by the food if my memory serves me correctly it had greatly enhanced senses including smell… and unparalleled strength and defense!)
"SHIT!" I got up in realization as the whole cave rumbled.
*Gg…GG..GGGG…RRRRRRRRRRAA…AAAAAAAHHHHHHH*
The beast bursted out the entrance with ease, minor bruising, a murderous glint in its eyes, and a lot of bloodlust aimed at me.
I stared at the beast with surprise as it pounced at me head first with its maw out and open.
Then I activated brain time slowing everything down to a halt.
<Skill 'Brain time-2.5' has been activated>
(I should run away and tire it out until it's out of energy before I attack since its hide is way too thick! The rocks barely damaged it! Now maybe if soak it with water electrocute it to make it immobile then blast it with ice to freeze it and repeat I should be able to kill it… but do I have enough energy to pull it off I got potions but it takes too long for it to take complete effect…) My eye scanned the beast for any weakness.
(Dwayne and Noir are out for the count and barely scratched it… Maybe I could lure it to another monster to distract it? Nah the monster might attack me or run away so that plan is unreliable… Might as well make it up as I go!) I thought as the world swiftly turned back to its normal speed.
I quickly jumped to the side effectively dodging it and making it crash into the wall.
I then dashed away with a map panel next to me as the beast stood in a daze.
<Cyrus it's way too dangerous to fight in the cave we have no choice we need to enter the vile- WATCH OUT!> She shouted abruptly with worry.
"What- OH HELL NO!" I looked back and increased my sprint as I saw the beast savagely charge at me on all four like Miguel Oh Hera as if I pissed on its cereal, slapped its pet back and forth, cheated with its partner, killed its bloodline for the giggles, was Miles Morales, messed with the cannon, and even more.
"SPEED POTION! SPEED POTION!" I shouted as I traversed the rocky terrain of the cave with fear and adrenaline while the beast constantly tried eating me.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT!" I shouted as I hurriedly scaled a wall with Draco cyberiem and the now flying Tigrex's maw seconds away from me.
<Do you need me to get Darius?> Lyra asked worriedly.
"YOU HAVEN'T CALLED HIM YET!" I exclaimed in shock as I messed up my footing and slipped.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" I shouted as I fell and clung onto the beast's wing.
*GGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH*
The beast then screeched at the top of its lungs on my face as an intimidation display to get me off its wing so it could fly.
"SHUT YOUR TRAP! IT STINKS LIKE A TACO BELL TOILET!" I screamed at the Tigrex as it crashed into the cave wall and broke through to reveal the rotten vile below us.
"CALL DARIUS BEFORE I DIE!" I shouted as the Tigrex and I descended to the graveyard.
As we plummeted to our demise the Tigrex tried biting me as if its life was on the line.
"FOCUS ON FLYING OR WE BOTH DIE YOU USELESS REPTILE!" I shouted at it as I punched its muzzle and hooked the axes on my waist before I summoned chains that wrapped around the Tigrex's neck.
*GGRRRRAAAHHH?*
It looked down confused before it screeched in panic as it started flying once more.
*GGGGGGRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHH*
It tried shaking me off by crashing its back onto the cliff.
"SCREW YOU TOO!" I shouted as I jumped off the dragon and onto the cliff descending using the claw on the gauntlets to slow my fall… which it did just not by much.
*GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH*
I turned back and quickly jumped off the cliff as the Tigrex hurled itself at where I was moments ago.
"Can't we just take this to the ground!" I said as I slammed one hand and my legs onto the cliff to halt my fall and used my other to shoot the barbaric dragon with pressurized blasts of water.
<Skill 'Water torrent-1.5' has been activated>
*GGGGRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHH*
"Never taken a bath I assume?" I mocked the beast with a grin as I let go once more to dodge its crash.
"Well then you won't like this 'ice bath'!" As I was free falling I started blasting the dragon with ice.
<Skill 'Ice bullet-1.4' has been activated>
*GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH*
The beast let out a mighty roar sending the sharp blocks of ice back at me with sheer air pressure.
"Welp shit…" I muttered as I had no way to dodge the ice mid-air.
"Well as Dwayne says 'If you can't dodge it punch it'!" I said as I punching any chunks that got too close to me as the Tigrex flew at me.
<CYRUS LOOK DOWN!>
I looked below and noticed that I was almost about to reach the ground "as much as I like this duel of ours… GOOD BYE YOU FOUL BEAST!" I said as grabbed the cliff side letting the beast crash into the ground.

<Is it dead?> Lyra asked with curiosity.
"Don't know but to be prepared boost me with potions…" I whispered to her as I slowly made my way down and I looked at the dust cloud looking for any movement.
(It's probably not dead…. Best case scenario the Tigrex is knocked out and in the worst case it's mildly hurt… Probably the latter…) I thought as I jumped down and took out my sword.
"Now where are you hiding…" I muttered as I looked around the grim and disturbing surroundings as the dust settled.
*Crack*
I quickly turned to my left as the blade secreted water and I activated its skill 'Iced edge'.
I then released a flurry of slashes that sent out a sharp blade like projectile of ice with each swing.
*GGGGGRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHH*
The Tigrex roared and the dust instantly cleared revealing its state.
I took a glance at the Tigrex and noticed it was relatively unharmed with a few patches of scales missing or damaged along with minor gashes from my attack.
"Damn well, aren't you a tough nut to-" I quickly ducked down letting a swipe from its claws pass by me.
I then slashed at its arm, missing the arm, and instead slightly punctured its wing membrane.
*GGGRRRRRRAAAAAAHHHHH*
(Not what I was aiming for but this could work…) I thought as I swung the blade once more tearing a small portion of its wing off before I sidestepped dodging its maw littered with pencil sized teeth.
(New plan, limit its mobility then fight it…) I thought as I sidestepped once more dodging a slam from its tail.
With a flick of my wrist, I blasted the beast with water before running to the side as it threw a fit of rage.
*GGGGRRRRRRUUUUUUUHHHHHHAAAAAAA*
"Why don't you chill out?" I grinned as I blasted the Tigrex with bullets of ice, exploding with force into a freezing mist on impact.

*GGGRRRAAA*
The reptile wailed in pain as the central membrane on its left wing shattered into sparkling red dust.
The beast then looked at me with pure rage and pain as its veins glowed a luminescent red and its muscles swelled like a cartoon character.
"Finally reaching the breaking point now are we-" In an instant, the beast disappeared and the scenery changed.
I then coughed out blood and looked down to see everything under my ribs gone including one of my lungs as I fell to the decaying flesh-ridden floor.
I weakly looked up and saw the beast staring at me with a look of pure delight as it munched on my lower half without breaking eye contact.
"u…ck…yy..ou…y..ou..gl…o…er….fa…ker" My curse on the beast was muffled as blood spewed out my mouth.
{Translation- did you actually think I'll give a translation? Use this as your daily puzzle and figure it out!}
(Sorry kiddo this foolish brother of yours has failed you… I can only hope you don't struggle in the world they will send you like I did…) I thought as the beast raised its swelling arm and I prepared to die.
<NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT!> Lyra shouted as the world came to a halt.
(Lyra what are you doing…) I weakly thought as fatigue slowly enveloped me.
<I'M GOING TO LET YOU DIE LIKE THE OTHERS CYRUS! I CAN HEAL YOU WITH POTIONS!> She said desperately.
(…Potions may heal me in a matter of minutes but I merely have seconds before I become a soul once more…) I mentally said to Lyra with a grim tone as I stared at my killer frozen in time.
<THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING I CAN DO!> I heard faint crying echo through my mind.
(There is something I'd like to ask of you Lyra… If you are the chosen system for my brother Logan Ryker, please take care of him and show him the love of a mother you showed me.) I said as I saw the world very slowly turn back to normal.
<Wait- I GOT IT HOLD ON CYRUS!> Lyra said with desperation and hope as a panel zoomed out of me.
(Take care of my tames and tell Darius I entrust the eggs in his care and to kill this bastard for me… Thank you for being with me Lyra on this short journey of ours…) I said my last words to her before everything went black.

(Strange… why do I hear cracking and what is that light?) I thought as I felt myself engulfed in a strange warm liquid.
(Why can't I control my body what's going on!) I thought as I felt my body smash through the darkness and I was blinded by light.
(IS THAT A FUCKING NERGIGANTE!) I thought as I saw the extinction dragon slowly walk over to me with a strange expression on its face.

Then suddenly my body slowly waddled towards the beast.
(WTF WHY ISN'T MY BODY LISTENING RUN DA…mnit… Why are my hand's black claws…) I thought as the dragon bent down and gently nuzzled its face on my body fondly.
I then looked at the beast's eyes and noticed something.
(WHY AM I A NERGIGANTE! And why aren't there big bull horns on my head?) I thought as I saw a small cute nergigante without horns on its forehead in the reflection of the elder dragons loving eyes.
Then with that revelation, memories of a lifetime flashed before me in an instant.
I met and clashed with creatures I knew of and those unknown to me, I traversed the world finding fantastical wonders, I grew stronger, I made bonds… and I joined forces with humans among many other species with a common goal…
…To eliminate the source of the plague that wiped them out all those centuries ago…
A grotesque being labeled as a black dragon, creature's that bring the end of the world when born….
The creature that slayed the two Dalamadur that lay in the rotten vile…
