Bab 13: The Council Meeting
"What are doing here Tsunade and why are sitting in The Senju clan head's seat? Don't you know, you aren't allowed here," shouted Danzo when he saw Tsunade sitting in the head's seat. He had a feeling that something bad is gonna happen in the meeting so he wants to get a headstart.
"Calm down Danzo, Tsunade must have some reason for coming here. Why don't you tell me Tsunade? What happened?" said Hiruzen in a calm voice.
" The Head is ill that's why I will be taking his place in the meeting," replied Tsunade nonchalantly.
"What a good Senju clan. They can't even send a prior message before sending someone in their place. The Senju clan really doesn't respect the Konoha and The Hokage." said Danzo while taking a jab at the Senju clan.
Tsunade narrowed her eyes when she saw Danzo taking a jab at the Senju clan's reputation. Her expression turned cold and then a playful smile appeared on her face. She said," Yeah right! I told everyone that we should Grandma Mito at the meeting but they didn't accept it and thought seriously. I think I should go call Grandma Mito and then only you all will take the Senju clan seriously." After saying this, just as she was about to get up and leave, everyone in the meeting shouted "No". She turned around and the Hiruzen said," Ahem, I mean we don't need to disturb Mito sama. You can attend the meeting."
"Then you all better treat me as Senju clan Head here. Everything I will say and every word you will say will be treated as such," replied Tsunade while releasing some Chakra (Pressure), which shocked everyone, mostly Hiruzen as he now knew that Tsunade had gotten strong, maybe stronger than himself.
Just then the door of the room opened and Hatake Sakumo entered the room. He didn't greet everyone and just walked towards the end and stood there. Coincidentally, that place was where Tsunade was sitting and both of them looked at each other and nodded. Then Sakumo kept sitting there without speaking with an expressionless look on his face.
The air in the room turned heavy and now everyone knew some shit is gonna happen in the meeting.
Both Hiruzen's and Danzo's expressions turned ugly as Sakumo disregarded their presence they knew some things had happened without them knowing and Danzo knew his plan had backfired. Sakumo has no regard for the village and Hokage which was a good thing as he could use it to eliminate Sakumo but when he saw him nodding toward Tsunade, he knew that things will turn extremely bad if he didn't do anything. So to keep momentum in his hand, he turned towards Sakumo and shouted," Insolent! Sakumo, after failing the mission, have you also forgotten all the respect? Do you really not keep Hokage and the village in your eyes? OR do you want to rebel against the Hokage?" Such vicious words but to which Sakumo remained silent and didn't reply.
Instead, it was Tsunade who said," What are saying Danzo? Even Hokage sama hasn't said anything, so why are you saying such vicious words to our village's hero 'The White Fang' Hatake Sakumo. Who are you to tell Sakumo about respect when you don't know about it. You are just an Advisor so act like one. Hatake Sakumo is our village's ANBU commander, a position second to Hokage. So just know your place, Advisor Shimura Danzo."
Everyone turned silent after hearing this. Both Danzo and Hiruzen's expressions turned ugly but Hiruzen changed back to normal. Sakumo had a smile on his face but instead of his usual polite and peaceful smile, it was a vicious smile.
"Hatake Sakumo has been removed from his position as ANBU commander and has been reduced to normal Jonin Level Ninja," said Hiruzen with a stern expression on his face.
"Are you sure about this Hokage sama?" replied Sakumo with a smile on his face. Yes, a smile as he knew this was gonna happen but he didn't know that he will be removed from ANBU. Now he had no extra thoughts about the decision he had made before coming to the meeting.
"Yes I am sure because I am the Hokage," said Hiruzen with a hint of ridicule.
Except for Danzo, Hiruzen, Tsunade, and Sakumo everyone in the meeting was silent as they knew if they spoke they will be targeted and just chose to watch the show.
Just the Sakumo dropped another bomb and said, " Then from this moment onwards, I withdraw myself from being a Konoha ninja as it is within my right." with an open taunt.
Everyone had a shocked expression when they heard Sakumo's statement while Danzo smiled viciously and said, "It seems you really want to rebel against Konoha. We can't allow any unauthorized ninja in the village so you will be kil-khem."
Just as he was about to complete the sentence, Tsunade punched him in the face. NO one had expected that Tsunade will take an action against Danzo. No one was able to see how she punched Danzo except for Hiruzen who only saw a blur and then he knew he will have to make a decision today.
"Just dare Danzo and I will kill you. From today onwards Hatake Sakumo had joined my Senju clan and if anyone dares to threaten or even talk about the Senju clan, I will show you why the Senju clan was one of the founding clans of Konoha," said Tsunade with an oppressive aura.
Everyone felt the weight of the aura except the Uchiha clan head who had a smile on his face. He knew that there were some problems with the Senju clan and Konoha executives had started to suppress both the founding clans. Now seeing the expression on Tsunade, he knew things have changed his mind felt clear and his aura also started to spike. Both the heads of the founding clan looked at each other and smiled. Only the two of them knew what the smile meant.
