"I'll see more about your body later, but first, let's get you another one," Mimir said, turning his attention back to Max.
Max nodded and replied, "Let me contract him first."
Mimir agreed, and Max gently put the wolf cub down. He pricked his thumb and drew a circle on the Night Fenrir's forehead. As the circle formed, a matching symbol appeared on Max's own forehead, creating a connection between them.
[Familiar Space Created], the system announced, and within Max, a new area began to form, filled with swirling energy.
Max closed his eyes, feeling the Familiar Space forming near his heart. It appeared as a small island-like environment surrounded by a lush forest, teeming with unfamiliar energy that he couldn't quite identify.
[Familiar Space is unique to each beast, allowing for optimal growth. It also reduces all resource requirements by 90%.] The system's message brought a sigh of relief to Max, who welcomed the good news.
"It seems the contract is complete," Mimir noted as the energies between Max and the Night Fenrir stabilized.
Max nodded, standing up as he waved his hand, sending the Night Fenrir into the Familiar Space. The little wolf vanished instantly, reappearing within its new environment. It began to explore, sniffing around before curling up and absorbing the rich energy around it, slowly falling asleep as its body continued to grow stronger in the nurturing space.
Max watched this with satisfaction. The familiar bond felt solid, and he could sense every change happening within his Familiar Space, from the energy fluctuations to the Fenrir's heartbeat.
"Alright, now that he's settled, what's next?" Max asked, ready for the next part of his awakening journey.
"What else? Let's summon another partner, hopefully a normal one," Mimir said.
After an hour, Mimir looked speechlessly at Max, who was forming a familiar bond with a water blob-like creature.
It was a creature even more fraudulent than Night Fenrir, the Cosmic Predator Slime. If Fenrir was at the top of the universe, this small, cute water blob was at the top of Cosmos.
Mimir pinched his straw-like nose as he looked at Max and his familiars.
"I honestly now pray for those Spawns of Abominations," he thought.
After Max formed his second familiar bond and obtained its abilities, he looked at Mimir. "What should I do now? Should I summon another one?" Max asked, eager to get another fraudulent creature.
Meanwhile, his system was now questioning itself: [Am I too great?] it thought, as Max's potential emanated from him, attracting these fraudulent beasts.
[This bastard lucked out with such ability,] his system thought.
[No problem, I can always force him for another run,] the system mused and decided to give up this time.
"Hell no! Like hell, I will allow another fraudulent creature!" Mimir said aloud. "Not to mention, you can't even form any more familiar bonds now," he added. Waving his hand, the summoning circle disappeared, and instead, many eggs appeared in its place.
"These are eggs I was going to release into the world to help inhabit it and add some life," Mimir explained, as Max and Selene looked at the plethora of eggs. There were over 5,000 of them here.
"These eggs contain over 5,000 different creatures, and I've selected the best member of each species, so choose any of them. Your physique gives you an affinity to all elements," Mimir continued.
"Even if it doesn't, that slime will definitely help you," he added.
Max nodded as he inspected the various eggs before him. "I wonder which one I should choose?" he thought, deciding not to use his appraisal abilities. Instead, he left it to fate.
After some time, his eyes landed on a silvery-red egg. It gleamed beautifully, like a gemstone. "This one," he murmured to himself.
"Hmm, let's see what hatches from it," Mimir said, guiding Max toward the incubator. It wasn't just any ordinary incubator but a magical circle designed to provide the perfect environment for hatching eggs.
Max carefully placed the egg in the center of the circle. As Mimir activated the magic, the circle began to glow, surrounding the egg in nurturing energy. After about five minutes, the first crack appeared on the egg's surface.
Mimir deactivated the circle and nodded toward Max. "Go near it. If the hatchling sees you first, the bond will be stronger."
Max approached the egg and sat beside it, watching closely as more cracks began to form. Suddenly, with a final burst, the top of the egg broke open, revealing a small dragon's head.
"Ryuu~~," the little dragon let out a cute roar, gazing at Max curiously.
"A Red-Eyes Silver Dragon," Mimir observed. "You got a good one."
"Tell me about her," Max asked, intrigued.
Mimir stroked his beard thoughtfully. "They are dragons with dual elements—Metal and Crystal—and the Destruction attribute. It's a powerful combination. In its prime, this species was one of the ten royal dragons of our world."
Max nodded as he gently picked up the tiny dragon, who nestled comfortably in his hands. They spent some time bonding, and before long, their connection was solidified.
"For now, we'll let the little one sleep," Mimir said, bringing over a strange fruit that looked like a mix between a pineapple and a banana. "This is a Tyrant-grade fruit. It'll be enough for her."
Max smiled as he named the little dragon. "Myne," he whispered, as the dragon snuggled deeper into his arms.
Max took the fruit, noticing how Myne looked at it eagerly but hesitated, her eyes turning to him as if asking for permission. He smiled warmly and handed it to her.
Myne let out another adorable roar before devouring the fruit hungrily. Once she finished, she gave a small, satisfied burp and promptly fell asleep in Max's palms, curling up with her tail wrapped around her body, her tiny wings covering herself like a blanket.
"Just place her in your Heart Space," Mimir suggested.
Max shook his head, a slight smile playing on his lips. "I have something better," he replied. Instead of the Heart Space, he placed Myne in his Familiar Space, alongside Leo, the Cosmic Emperor Slime. The space was filled with annihilation energy, a unique environment that would be highly beneficial to a young dragon like Myne.
