Many soldiers swept through the village from its entrance, thoroughly combing through each estate, naturally including the Qin Family's mansion.

As Mrs. Qin-Chen was distressfully discussing whether to go to the county city with Chen Laoshi, they were utterly startled by these sudden intruding soldiers!

The soldiers rummaged carelessly.

"You, did you see a severely injured man accompanied by a young boy? Anyone failing to report will cause their entire family to be implicated!"

Watching as a good many things in the house got destroyed, Mrs. Qin-Chen was particularly distraught!

"Sir, please, have mercy."

She quickly thought of an idea, grabbed one of the searching soldiers, and smoothly slipped some copper coins into his hand.

With a smiling face, she said, "Sir, did you just mention that one of the people you're looking for is severely injured?"

The soldier quickly fiddled with the copper coins in his hand and gave a slight smirk: "Hmm, so what? You have a clue for me?"
