Bab 1: The Nobleman of Yangwu - Han Yu
Year 3769 of the New Era Calendar.
Qingyun Kingdom, Yangwu City.
Yangwu, a city with over three hundred years of history in the Qingyun Kingdom. It may not be unique, nor does it have any noteworthy points other than being a city full of merchants and having one of the best topographies in the Qingyun Kingdom.
But if it would be compared to the cities of the Great Cangdi Empire, it could most likely be accounted as an ordinary city, let alone in the entire Xuanzhu, it would only be an ordinary human settlement.
Yet, the struggles of the far and wide world who knows.
At least the people of Yangwu are busy in their own world, as today is the day when many of them would turn from a carp into a dragon.
Today is a very special day for the people of Yangwu because, on this day, children over sixteen would undergo an awakening trail, which would decide their future.
Not only them but even their parents and relatives would be affected. It would be easier to understand this way, that the rise and fall of their families would be dependent on these youths, whose eyes are brimming with hope and anticipation.

Yangwu, Azure Cloud Academy.
Azure Cloud Academy, is the most prodigious academy in Qingyun Kingdom after Royal Cloud Academy.
The Azure Cloud Academy was set by King Qing himself, and it's open throughout the country.
This academy not only trains youth but even the selection of Martial Artists as military soldiers and the royal family's Imperial Spirit Masters are selected from here, so it held great importance for the Kingdom itself.
As the king pays special attention, the headmaster and most of the teachers have military backgrounds.
One could say that it's a kind of repayment by the king to the retired soldiers and old veterans.
Awakening batch, Hallroom no. 1.
The hall was decorated brilliantly with purple and in contrast with silver, it was classic yet gave a sacred and momentous feeling to each and everyone present here.
Above the stage, academy teachers were sitting on the designated purple-silverish chairs and the headmaster was standing next to the podium.
For the teachers and headmaster of Azure Cloud Academy, it's something more or less normal, because they have to face it every other year. Yet one could see that they have dignified and serious expressions on their faces.
More or less, for these young boys and girls, today's gathering is even more serious and even a deciding factor in their future life.
A chicken or a phoenix, a snake or dragon.. today it would be a final decisive chant over this phrase, once and for all!
On a row of chairs in the hallroom, a few hundred young students were sitting and listening to the headmaster attentively. Each one had held their breath and anxiety and excitement were clearly visible in their eyes...
"Ahem!..hmm, Today, it's a big day for all of you, and each of you should listen to this old man attentively." The headmaster who was standing proudly next to the podium said in a slightly hoarse voice.
Headmaster Wang Renshu is a person with a tough personality, each of his words contains military might, not only he looks like an old general, rather he was indeed an old general retired from the military.
Although he is an old man, yet his back is straight. His long greyish-white hair is tied with a simple silver head knot. He wore a traditional white gown, embedded with blue clouds.
His face was full of dignity and his hand rested on the podium, his stiff face and a scar on his forehead give an intimidating vibe, which is enough to scare any children, in short, he looks old yet ferocious!
As his eyes swept the audience, many of the young boys and girls shrank their heads inwardly, yet the headmaster Wang Renshu continued to address; "If one wants to hold enough power to decide their life and beyond what an ordinary person can achieve, you should always remember, that power comes with a responsibility!"
With the ending of his sentence, his voice re-vibrated and shook the hearts of many young boys and girls. Even a few youths who looked a few years older showed a pensive look.
These groups of young men and young ladies are different from these young boys and girls who are naïve and are here for their first awakening process.
Generally, a person can perform the awakening trial three times. If the person didn't succeed in their first trial, then the remaining two trials would be even more difficult to cross and chances to become an awakened warrior or Imperial Spirit Master would become lower and lower until for the third try, it would lower to 0.1%-0.5%.
These few dozen youths who are sitting at the backside, are those who either had to go through their second trial or third one.
No matter if it's them or these young naïve academy brothers and sisters, they have the same passion and longing. Just in the case of these older youths, they are more anxious.

The young man was not only extremely handsome, even his aura was impressive. One could see that the girls sitting near him were stealing glances from time to time.

Not only his facial expressions were otherworldly, but even his height, perfectly sculptured body with jade-like skin tone made him stand out as the best male candidate that most females desire.
Combining all these qualities, with his indifferent yet calm aura makes it even more extraordinary and mysterious.
In terms of looks, this guy is the best in Yangwu, and in fame, he's as famous as the old guy of Yangwu.
Nevertheless, these young men know that it's best to stay away from him.
Naturally, leaving the tall guy named Feng Fu with short brown hair. After all, his face is thick and shamelessly loves to cling to the fat thighs of Han Yu.
Actually, Feng Fu and Han Yu were friends from childhood and as time progressed they became like real brothers.
One thing I have to mention is that Han Yu always regrets and sighs about what an unlucky moment was in his life when he became friends with this overly active, inexpensive guy.
Now nothing could be done, they are already like brothers and it's impossible to flip off this guy anymore.
Han Yu is although very famous but his fame also came with ridicule, He is the Eldest Young Master of the Han Family which is one of the top families in Yangwu. From birth until now, he always had everything he wished for, not only this he proved he is worthy of those things.
No matter if it's talent in Martial arts, or his comprehension and wisdom, even his manners are outstandingly outperforms everyone of his generation.
It has to be said that he was loved and hated by everyone in Yangwu.
In Han Yu's life, everything went well, until the awakening trial when he turned Sixteen, he was bathed in splendor and the first to go on the stage.
Under the cheers, encouragement, happiness, fear, jealousy, and envious eyes of others, he went to declare that he was the best of his generation.
Alas, destiny had something else for him at that time, as he walked towards the stage in brilliance but ended up with the worst results.
During his first awakening trial, he was unable to awaken as an Imperial Spirit Master, not even as a Martial Artist.
It caused a huge blow for him at that time, and it was the time when his pride and calmness shattered into dust.
Days after days and two years passed by, and even though he was unwilling and went for the Second awakening trial it still failed and this time he even fainted.
Everyone thought the rising comet would fall and that would be the end of this once monstrous genius. Some were happy with his fall and some were sad.
But no one can shake off the fact that he's still the young man who is talked about the most in Yangwu.
Over time, Han Yu already calmed down and his pride turned into a humble indifference.
Why? Because he got to know that if you want to become successful, you should wear off your pride and take the road of a humble scholar.
Naturally, there was something that only he knew, not even his family... And that was the reason he wanted to go for the third awakening trail, even if people said there was no way.
After all, what he knows, they are unaware of that truth.
Even if it has to be said, he is very confident that he will succeed this time for sure. It's his confidence that shakes off the taunting glares of people.
To be an Imperial Spirit Master is his dream and very soon he'll realize it to be accomplished in this awakening trial.
As Han Yu was thinking about the process he had to go through for awakening, the headmaster Wang Renshu finally started his speech.
"Old man knows you guys are excited to complete the awakening trial but as you all will go through the awakening process, let Old man elaborate on it, and why awakening is so important!"
"Awakening is the very first part for you guys to go through, or to say it's the very first thing every person will need to go through, as everyone knows there are three chances for a person to go through the awakening trial but with each trial the hope of being an awakened lowered until for the third trail it's almost equal to none." As he said this, Wang Renshu quietly glanced toward Han Yu, but before someone could see, he averted his eyes straight, as if he never looked towards him.
Naturally, others didn't find this miscellaneous change, but Han You is not of them, he clearly saw when Wang Renshu glanced towards him, not only this he could even see the regret, anger, and pity in his eyes.
Seeing his look and regret in his eyes, Han Yu can understand why he had those expressions for him.

It has to be said that Han Yu was the favorite student of Wang Renshu. No, rather, it would be best to say he was the favorite of every teacher and student in Azure Cloud Academy of Yangwu.
But his first awakening trial caused many people to disbelieve his results, Wang Renshu was one of them, still, he encouraged him and even from time to time he trained him so that he could possibly make some achievements on his second awakening trial.
Yet, not only Wang Renshu's hard work was in vain, even after Han Yu was injured during his second trial and was still unable to awaken even as a warrior, and thus many people began to ridicule headmaster Wang Renshu, saying that his vision is too weak and he's not fit to be the headmaster and so on.
Naturally, although these ridiculous things made Wang Renshu's mode worse, what made him even more unbearable was that from that day Han Yu seemed to be dispirited and never came back to the academy.
Even after he tried to reach out to the Han Family to let them ask Han Yu to attend the academy, even if he can't become a Warrior or Imperial Spirit Master, at least with his comprehension and wisdom it won't be difficult for him to become an Imperial Spirit breeder or an Imperial Scientist.
Yet, in the end, the Han Family replied to him that Han Yu wanted to wait for 2 more years and wanted to take the risk for the third trial.
In regards to this, Wang Renshu was not happy even a bit, why? Because he understood that as per the second awakening trial and in what condition Han Yu was, it would be an impossible task for him to awaken, and rather than wasting more time, he should choose another career path.
He even planned to recommend Han Yu to his friend in Imperial City so that he could make up for his lost time.
Still, in the end, Han Yu politely declined his offer, and seeing this, Wang Renshu finally lost hope, and never mentioned or contacted Han Yu ever again.

It could be said that the relationship between Han Yu and Wang Renshu now is of love and hate, love for his talent, and hate for his stubbornness.
Nevertheless, Han Yu didn't take it to heart, he's well aware of his situation, otherwise, his face is not so thick as to humiliate himself again in front of his junior brothers and sisters.
"To explain awakening, it's the quiet complex and the old man doesn't have enough time to explain all of it, but what you need to remember, is the awakening process is to stimulate your hidden talent or rather to stimulate your potential which in return cause the change in your body, and lead to the process where your body could absorb the Spirit Qi from the outside world and transform your body and spirit." Headmaster Wang Renshu continued to explain as he pointed towards the virtual form of a person, next to the podium.
The virtual form was rotating slightly and there were many red dotted points over the body, and as headmaster Wang was explaining, the virtual form continued to move and changes happened along the virtual body.
This virtual form is produced by the virtual device which is easily available, yet the explanation is not easy to get for the awakening.
The moving virtual form defines how the process of awakening works and what factors are involved, while headmaster Wang explained them to the point with less explanation.
Old men of his age tend to talk less and get to the point.
The youth who was sitting behind were aware of the awakening process in which Headmaster Wang was speaking, but for the young boys and girls it was quite a valuable lesson, so they tried their best to listen attentively.
As time passed by, headmaster Wang, also elaborated on the difference between a Spirit Warrior and an Imperial Spirit Master and their basic talent marks as well.
In the end, Wang Renshu finally decided to end the speech while explaining the awakening process of the dark and rising dawn era.
