Bab 59: Waiting for the prey

"Seymour..." Kieran sat on his throne as he observed the old Duke, who had not spoken a word since the youngsters left the throne room. He was lost in his thoughts and his expressions kept changing vividly, amusing Kieran all the more.

"Yes, Your Majesty?" He replied instinctively, even though he was still in a stupor.

"Where are you lost?" Kieran stifled his smile and leaned back as he rested his cheek on his right hand.

"Your Majesty, I was wondering about my daughter."

"What about her?" Kieran did not break him out of his trance, allowing the man to speak his mind. "Did the young lady say something?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. I am baffled that she asked me to..." Seymour snapped out of his reverie when he realized what he was about to say. He shook his head, berating himself for losing control for a moment. Revealing his thoughts to the young King would only infuriate him and his daughter would incur his infamous wrath upon herself.
