Everything that transpired after our conversation felt weird. Cain had immediately dropped the topic after hearing my reply as he backed away with a deep sigh and a frown.

I remember trying to ask him whether I had said something wrong, but he simply shakes his head with a defeated smile as he gestures to me to head back to class. I followed through with his request, though I couldn't shake the fact that his mood dampened significantly after.

On the other hand, once I had returned to class— presently, I found several students keeping a watchful eye on me while the rest had theirs trained on Orion. I thought it was rather odd, but upon seeing his visage as I headed to my seat, I shrugged it off as normal.
