Han Jun woke up the next morning with Ariel by his side. Her hair was not in a bun anymore. Her long black hair covered her sleeping face. As the sunlight shown on her face, she half opened her eyes and looked at Han Jun. She quickly got up and looked around the room pretending not to meet his eyes.
"I didn't mean to look at you. I thought you were still asleep." Ariel looked at the ground expecting a loud scolding from him. Han Jun looked at her but he didn't shout.
"Breakfast is ready. Let's go together." Ariel followed Han Jun behind his back but he stopped halfway and looked at her. Ariel looked down again and avoiding his eyes.
"If you need anything, I will try my best." She bowed.
"Call me Master. Did you forget?" Ariel quickly went down her knees.
"Master. If you need anything, please tell me. I will try best to serve you." Han Jun looked at her emotionlessly.
"Get up. Stand beside me. If you are scared of me, I can fire you right away." Ariel quickly stood up and bowed, "Master, I... I am not worthy to stand beside you. I'm only a servant." She stuttered.
Han Jun looked at her again and trapped her against the wall. Ariel felt his breath against her face.
"You may be a servant before but you are my assistant and my partner by blood. Only I can call you my servant, no one else can. Remember that." Ariel nodded.
After they arrived at the dining hall, Ariel expected more people but surprisingly it was only her master's uncle and aunt. Ariel looked around and saw other maids standing. She decided to stand beside her Master while he sat down.
"Looks like you brought her, Han Jun." Han Jun's uncle smiled and looked at Ariel.
"Ariel, come here." She looked at Han Jun but he didn't say anything. Ariel nodded and slowly went to Hugo's side but was stopped by a hand grab.
"Master?"
"Did I tell you to go?" Ariel shook her head.
"Sit. You only listen to my words you understand?" Han Jun grabbed her wrist tightly as she squinted in pain.
"Master, I apologize." Han Jun wouldn't let go of her hand.
"Sit down." Han Jun sternly asked. Ariel nodded and quickly sat down.
"Well well well... Don't be that harsh to the girl. You will only scare her." Hugo laughed.
"Hugo, don't bother with the devil's child. He is nothing but nuisance." Ella rolled her eyes.
"Ella, it's the past. We have a new guest now. Behave yourself, you are not a kid anymore." Ella ignore him and stood up.
"Han Jun, ever since your mother passed away, you should've died with her. If only you were dead, I could've taken your inheritance. Why did it have to be you?! Die! Die, you monster!" Ella was in full rage and Hugo stood up to calm her down.
"Ella, sit. Enough! Ariel, my apologies that you had to hear this." Hugo signalled the butler and he took Ella away.
Han Jun wasn't bother by it. For all of his life, his aunt wanted to bring him down.
"Aunt, you really are acting like a child with a behavior issue. I can give you a time out if you need to." He wiped his mouth as he finished his breakfast.
"We have guests arriving soon. Ariel, come with me." Ariel was surprised he called her first name. They weren't even that close. But, she followed him as they went inside his bedroom. Ariel stood by him as he closed his eyes as if he's thinking about something.
Ariel looked out of the window, England weather was full of rainy and wet days but today, it was especially sunny. Ariel looked at Han Jun. His eyes were cold, he had no emotion. Everything she heard today was unexpected. How can he so calm? If it was her, she would've punched the aunt to a million pieces.
"Master. I'm sorry for your loss." Ariel was speechless. All she could do was feeling his pain. As his servant and his assistant, she couldn't do anything. They were not lovers. She wanted her master to smile, to cry when he is in pain and to laugh as well. But, he wasn't able to. Ariel slowly held his hand.
"Master, I know I am only your servant and I needed your permission if I wanted to do something. For now, Master, can I hold your hand like this?" Han Jun tightened his grip and held onto Ariel. Even though he wasn't able to show any emotions, at least, he needed someone.
"Ariel, why do you care about me? You were suppose to hate me. Why didn't you hate me? I am the devil's child. No one ever cared about me except for my mother. Now that she's gone, everyone wanted me dead." Ariel looked out of the window and replied, "Master, no matter what happens, I will always be on your side. I will never betray you. You can take my life if I break that promise." Ariel carefully let go of his hand and Han Jun turned around. She kneeled down on one knee, took one of his hand and kissed it.
"Master, I will only obey you and no one else. I will not listen to other people anymore. If you need something, you can always call my name. Even at night." Ariel stood up and looked at Han Jun.
"Master..."
"Ariel, never leave my side without my permission." Ariel nodded. Even though by status, she was still a servant but she is also Master Han's personal assistant. Whatever trouble gets in their way, she will do her best and resolve it. She will not run away anymore. Master only trusted her. She cannot betray him.
