Song Jian followed Xin Ling as they both walked outside. Xuan Tian Sect and several large nearby sects were enveloped in a transparent barrier, spanning roughly a dozen kilometers or so. To enter the Starry Sky Battlefield, they needed to step outside this barrier.

The barrier also served as a defensive formation. Once inside, it was essentially like being in a safe zone, protecting the members of the Human Race who entered the Starry Sky Battlefield. The other species had similar defensive measures in place, ensuring that all clashes had to occur on the Starry Sky Battlefield and could not affect the defensive areas of the various species.
