Leo sat with his back to the flames, his posture relaxed but his senses keen. The creatures from earlier still lingered in his mind. Whatever had driven them to encircle the camp wasn't natural, and their sudden retreat after he unleashed his aura only deepened the mystery.

Across the fire, Marcus and Aaron were deep in conversation. Their hushed tones carried a mix of arrogance and disdain, though they avoided directly addressing Leo. Selene was sharpening her blade, her movements methodical and precise, while Tristen sat nearby, his gaze darting nervously around the darkened woods.
