Yin Mei floated adrift in the vastness of space, contemplating her next course of action. Should she return to the Frost Empire? But what if they saw her only as a demon to be scorned? Should she join the demon army in hopes of finding her long-lost mother? But her father had searched fruitlessly until his dying breath - what chance did she have of locating her after so long?

As these tumultuous thoughts swirled, Yin Mei was suddenly overcome by a wave of dizziness, her vision blurring. She had expended all her power in the struggle to prevent her spiritual sea from devouring itself. Now the toll was being exacted as she began to fall uncontrollably.

Closing her eyes in resignation, Yin Mei plummeted from the celestial realms. Her descent was merciless, piercing through first the immortal planes in a blinding flash, leaving a gaping hole in its wake. Still, she continued falling, smashing through realm after realm of the mortal worlds in a brilliant cosmic contrail.
