"This might just be possible."

Venessa said with a relieved smile before walking to the control panel. The blinking green light on the top panel meant that there was indeed some power in it... But whether that amount would be enough to launch the missiles or not was a different matter.

Venessa was probably thinking the same, as she looked at the missiles with worry. After a few moments, she turned back to the panels and started clicking this and that on the main screen.

In a few moments, several more lights appeared on the machine.

The woman cleaned the dust off the window before her and looked closely at the missiles.

"Everything seems to be fine. The missile conditions are optimal too... But the launch light for the missiles isn't turning on."

She said with a sigh before turning towards us. It seemed that our worse fears were turning out to be true.
