Bab 16: Provocations?
The duo smiled knowingly and stepped towards each other, making their followers step closer too.
"Chong Tsay, Z-003."
"Tsetu Zhi, Z-001."
The duo shook hands, making many feel like they were witnessing a legendary scene.
Everyone couldn't help feeling that they should move closer to the duo.
Listening to their ranking numbers made many think that if they followed these geniuses, they shouldn't end up any worse.
Chong Tsay and Tsetu Zhi, who had just formed an understanding bond, glanced at everyone with a deep smile on their faces.
"Everyone, coming here was indeed the right decision. Just like Chong Tsay said, it's highly unlikely that our sleeping quarters would be on the ground floor, so the only option is for us to ascend."
Chong Tsay nodded his head while massaging his chin: "Remembering the building structure, we can assume that the width of the building was the same as the entrance tunnel we passed through when we first got here from the transport vehicles. So I'm terms of width, we should've only gone 1/3 deep so far."
"Hmhm. Think about it. When we first entered the building on the ground floor, we were met with a wide hallway that seemed to stretch on forever.
On the right of the hallway were the windows, and on the left were numerous identical doors.
Following that, we passed through one of the doors and entered another massive hall that had those grand stairs in it.
The hall itself was as big as an auditorium, with large stairs at the front.
Again, we ascended the lengthy stairs until we got to this room, which in itself is another grand room on its own.
But with all this, we should've only tapped into 1/3 the width of the building, based on the tunnel-like passageway we passed under after leaving the vehicles.
So without a doubt, this room can't be a dead end.
Meaning the other side should expand towards the other 2/3 of the building." Tsetu Zi said sternly, making everyone look at him and Chong Tsay with awe.

Everyone's lips quivered with excitement when looking at the duo.
With them, they felt like the task given to them should be easy breezy.

Meanwhile, in the control room, The Keeper and the Hell Shadows looked at the monitors deeply.
"As expected of people who could rank so high in the district. They think faster than most."
"Hahaha. It looks like this season, Teng-san and Honya-san got the best out of the lot."
Yan Teng and Bin Honya, who heard the comments from their comrades, couldn't help smiling proudly.
Chong Tsay was one of the candidates assigned under Yan Teng and his team, while Tsetu Zhi was one of the candidates assigned under Bin Honya instead.
As mentioned earlier, each Hell Shadow had their individual teams, who would observe the candidates assigned to them strictly.
Everyone liked to look after geniuses.
So how could they not be pleased?
Plus, the more candidates they got that successfully transferred into the barracks, the more military points they had.

"Does anyone not see what I'm seeing?
Your so-called good candidates have been targeting 2 of my candidates since the beginning!"
"Hmhm. Same here. Your candidates are obviously going against my star candidate!"
Both Lin Chindu (Z-002) and Ji Shen (Z-360) were assigned under Pei Xhi, while Ran Senko (Z-005) was assigned under Zha Ju.
So how could they not be concerned?
If their candidates fail, get plotted against and maybe even get sent back, then they wouldn't be able to get military points too.
Even though they, as Hell Shadows, all worked under the Keeper, they were still competitive as ever.
So the moment they saw something that could possibly go against their interest, how could they not feel targeted?
Their cold auras seeped out, making the air tense.
A cold glint flashed through their eyes when they thought of their people getting targeted.
That's right. They had already assumed the positions of a mother hen guarding her chicks.
Yan Teng and Bin Honya sneered and also released their murderous auras too.
"What? You want to fight?
Heh. Pei Xhi! Zha Ju!
You better keep your anger to yourselves.
If our candidates are picking on your candidates, then it can only show how weak your candidates are."
Bin Honya puffed his chest out and smiled arrogantly: "That's right. If I remember correctly, we competed for these candidates fair and square, and I give you both the beatings of your life! It was my victory that gave me Z-001. That said, if my candidates are smarter than yours, and end up surpassing yours, then how is it my fault?"
Bin Honya smiled playfully and raised his hands as if surrendering: "Didn't you two also get top candidates? So shouldn't you have faith in your top candidates not to get bullied?"

Can Z-002 and Z-005 still be considered as top candidates?
Just look at how they stuck to Z-360 like glue?

Listening to Yan Teng and Bin Honya, Pei Xhi and Zha Ju were angry that their bodies started trembling vigorously.
Dammit!
They felt insulted.
But they knew that they couldn't do anything about it.
The other Hell shadows couldn't help agreeing with Honya and Yan Teng.
It made no sense to them why Lin Chindu and Ran Senko would keep sticking close to a weakling like Ji Shen.
It was right to assume that these two top candidates weren't all that smart compared to Chong Tsay and Tsetu Zhi.
Again, so what if some candidates got targeted?
This was a testing ground.
So if candidates couldn't even withstand a little bullying, fell into schemes, or even failed to rise to minor provocations, then they should just go home!
