Meanwhile Tsubaki was on the roof of the building watching the clouds go by, her eyes were red, she had cried slightly.
Why wasn't Sona able to understand her feelings? If she felt happy while she was with Goku, why would she have to walk away from him?
If Goku really represented a threat, he would have acted long before, Tsubaki refused to believe that Goku would cause them any harm.
"Tsubaki-senpai?"
Tsubaki's heart raced when she heard that voice, she quickly raised her head and realized that it was Goku, who was coming with a tray.
"What are you doing here Goku-san?" Tsubaki asked, quickly erasing that expression of sadness from her face, she didn't want Goku to see her like that.
"Sometimes I usually hang out here... but I was surprised to see you" confessed Goku smiling nervously, sometimes it was annoying that they were harassing him all the time.
"What did I tell you about the 'Senpai'?" asked Tsubaki with an unyielding look and a chibi Goku lowered his head upon hearing those words from Tsubaki.
"Sorry Tsubaki-sen... Tsubaki, it's hard to get used to" Goku complained scratching the back of his neck but he immediately noticed something, "Your eyes... have you been crying Tsubaki-san? " she asked.
"No, there's no reason to cry" Tsubaki lied, looking away from her.
"Someone told me once that crying is a way to release those feelings that chain us, in a certain way we all came crying to this world" Goku spoke remembering those words, now he understood them perfectly
"Wow, that's very deep Goku-san, thanks I'll take note" Tsubaki thanked drawing a smile on her face, "You... too... are you crying?"
"No, there's no reason for me to cry" Goku paraphrased smiling and Tsubaki let out a small laugh that she hid with her hands.
"Good point"
"I had a great teacher"
"But there are some nights when I remember my grandfather and I start to cry, remembering all the moments we lived, the times he played a prank and he corrected me" Goku spoke, smiling nostalgically and Tsubaki felt sorry for him.
"I also remember my grandmother every night, but now that she's gone I remember her with a smile for all those beautiful moments I lived with her, she was the only person who supported me" Tsubaki spoke in turn and blinked twice.
Goku noticed that and cautiously removed Tsubaki's glasses and was surprised, she was much more beautiful without the glasses.
"I noticed how you blinked and I thought that your glasses could be fogged up" Goku spoke taking a napkin and cleaning them in turn.
Tsubaki was surprised by that gesture and she smiled, her smile widening as Goku slowly put the glasses back on her.
"If you want you can tell me... I know you've been crying for a long time Tsubaki-san" said the boy looking at the heterochromic girl, who nodded.
"There is someone with whom I enjoy talking and spending time, but a friend of mine has told me to stay away from that person because it could hurt me, she is not the one to decide in my life, if I can be happy with that person I wouldn't hesitate be with her" Tsubaki told expressing her annoyance and Goku nodded listening.
"That sounds very complicated, but I think your friend should make you happy..." Tsubaki nodded, agreeing with Goku's words. "But you shouldn't get mad at her, she's your friend and she only wants the best for you" added the black-haired man.
"So you suggest... That she put me in her place to see things from her perspective?" Tsubaki asked and Goku nodded confused not knowing his words really meant that.
Tsubaki nodded, seeing things from only one angle was surely not the most correct option.
"Once again you help me with your words Goku-san... you really are really great..." Tsubaki gave her a quick hug but she quickly separated from her, perhaps she was too hasty when making that gesture.
"We're friends, so it's my duty to help you Tsubaki-san" Goku spoke smiling and Tsubaki nodded, she was really happy to be her friend.
Goku reached behind his back and took the tray containing his lunch, opening it revealing a couple of gravy rice balls.
"You want? I have prepared them" asked Goku smiling, these years he had been smart to learn the basics of cooking: rice, vegetables...
"Oh, that's really new… you definitely don't seem like the kind of person who knows how to cook" Tsubaki scoffed and Goku pouted "Okay, I'll eat them with you. But first you must wash your hands, or did you do it before coming here?"
Goku looked everywhere but there was no fountain, Tsubaki was looking at him with a "if you don't wash, you don't eat" face, which made him swallow dry.
"I knew you'd have that reaction, here" Tsubaki handed him a hydroalcoholic wipe and Goku, smiling, wiped his hands with it.
"Great, can we eat now?" asked Goku anxiously and Tsubaki shook his finger, "Oh, come on Tsubaki-san! I'm starving"
"First you have to bless the food" Tsubaki indicated joining her hands and closing her eyes and Goku imitated her doing the same pose.
Goku half-opened his right eye to see if Tsubaki had finished, he was desperate to see that he had spent an eternity with the blessing.
"Now yes, we can..." Tsubaki could not finish that sentence when Goku already had half a rice ball in his mouth, she sighed smiling, "... eat"
Tsubaki took the other rice ball and took a bite, she furrowed her brow as it looked like that rice had been trodden underfoot by a tractor and then cooked in an elderly men's hot tub. Could that even be called rice?
"How is it? Did you like my food?" Goku asked smiling hopefully.
"It's horrible, where did you learn to cook?" Tsubaki spoke containing her laugh and Goku scratched the back of his neck, "But as you have done, I will eat it as if it were the most delicious dish in the world" she added starting to eat.
"Would you teach me how to cook?" Goku asked smiling, the truth is that his food could improve in all possible aspects.
"Sure, whenever you want I'll show you" Tsubaki replied with a smile, "Would you mind staying at my house tomorrow at noon?"
"That sounds great"
"Do you still remember the address?"
"Sure, left, straight ahead, two steps back and two to the right, turning the body twice and walking to the right"
"Hahaha, did you memorize my home address? Very sweet of you, I didn't know that facet"
"I didn't actually memorize it..."
"I believe you, but first of all you must call me Tsubaki-sensei if you want to be my disciple..."
"But if he does nothing, you said nothing to the contrary"
"Don't replicate my orders rookie boy"
"This isn't funny... it's sad"
"It is my responsibility to help you Goku-san as your friend... but I warn you that it will not be an easy task to keep up with my high level of cooking"
"I'm already regretting..."
"Ah no young man, you can't get rid of this one"
"Sigh...."
Tsubaki let out a small laugh as he saw a chibi Goku lower his shoulders in defeat, the two kept talking for a couple more hours, laughing and getting to know each other better.
_______________
Goku smiled while he served some dishes in the place, his memories were in the moment where he chatted with Tsubaki a few hours ago.
His conversation was just fantastic and natural, out of all the people he had talked to Tsubaki he enjoyed the most.
When Tsubaki's face came to mind, he unconsciously smiled, perhaps because she was really beautiful or because she was having a good time by her side chatting and laughing.
At the time she started her classes at Kuoh high school he always had her in mind as someone cold and impassive, but now that he knew her she was quite funny although she was still strict... but sometimes.
He knew perfectly well that she was a demoness but despite that he liked her, he thought that maybe the demons were not as bad as they said in most scriptures and in various texts.
To be honest he couldn't imagine Tsubaki, Sona or Rias living in hell surrounded by fire and brimstone, he thought that maybe the real hell could be a very different place than what was said.
If there were demons there should also be angels and surely God, what if an angel had blessed him with the system? It could be a probability, he had no proof but no doubt that they had given him the system.
He needed much more information from the supernatural world if he wanted to survive, with the system's 'persuasion' ability he could only know the race of each being but he had no more information.
