I levitated my trunk to the rack and sat down on the seat opposite to Luna. It felt good to do magic after so much time. The train took off shortly and Luna take out The Quibbler and began reading it.
'Time start practicing Occlumency', In the summer I have completely perfected the second stage. I'm able to form two separate chain of thoughts and keep one hidden behind the barrier. I think my barrier can even hold against the strongest of legilimency spells because in the last days before Holidays I was pouring considerably high amounts of magic the glass ball and was able to hold against it for 7- 8 minutes. This time is more than enough for me to repel the attacker by magic or by force or simply runaway. But I don't think there are many people who can keep legilimency spell up for more than 5 minutes. I can only do it because of the glass ball and almost never-ending amount of magic I have.
I have noticed that my magic capacity has increased tremendously over the year. According to the magical theory magic increases the more you practice it and I have done lots of it. At the beginning of last year I could feel myself exhausted physically and magically at the end of a day's practice but by the end of the year, I just felt the physical exhaustion, I felt that I could still do so much magic if not for the physical exhaustion.
'I will have to start my physical training from this year to increase my stamina', I thought a little sadly because I don't enjoy physical work out at all. Even in previous life I would try to avoid going to the gym as much as possible by making different excuses to myself. But in this life, physical fitness would definitely give me an added advantage in difficult situations , so I would have to start training sooner or later.
I was in thoughts when the door opened and a little red haired girl entered the compartment.
"Hiya Luna, is anyone else sitting here?", she asked Luna.
"Oh hello Ginny, you can sit here, don't mind the Slimpy Gunries," Ginny looked confused but she knew better than to ask. They were friends since they were little after all.
"We almost got late, I just boarded the first carriage I saw, my trunk is with Fred and George. I hope Ron and Harry successfully boarded the train. I didn't see them on the platform", she said to Luna.
"Speaking of, do you know Harry Potter stayed at our house during the summer. He's friends with Ron.....", she started telling Luna all about the summer.
I didn't pay it any mind as I was thinking about the major threat I was going to face this year.
'How do I get the diary from Ginny assuming she has it. I hope it's not an AU where someone else got the diary and I surely haven't affected the world so much that the event of Lucius Malfoy dropping the diary in Ginny's cauldron would change. Most likely case is that she has the diary. It's a pity she doesn't have her trunk with her or I would have tried to take it right here.'
A few hours passed and I changed into my school robes. Luna and Ginny were now talking about Hogwarts and which house they would be sorted into.
"I would be very surprised if I'm not sorted in Gryffindor, I wish we get sorted in the same house", Ginny said.
"My mother and father both were in Ravenclaw, so there's a high chance I will going to Ravenclaw", Luna said.
" Do you know how we will be sorted?" asked Ginny worriedly. "Fred and George told me some very disturbing methods of sorting. They must be pranking me, there's no way we will have to survive a night in the Forbidden Forest."
"I think the merpeople in the black lake will determine which student goes in which house by a ritual because they are actually the ones running Hogwarts in secret after all", Luna said with complete certainty to a perplexed Ginny.
I put my hand in front of my mouth to hide my smile but Luna noticed it. She fixed me with her protuberant silvery eyes.
"You are in Ravenclaw", she said matter-of-factly, obviously noticing my robes.
"Yes, I am", I said.
"Could you please tell us how we will be sorted?", Ginny asked.
"Uh.. Sorry I can't, I don't know why but I think there's an unwritten rule about not telling first years about the sorting process", I saw their faces fell. "But don't worry, it will nothing as crazy as the things you two were talking about", I added consolingly.
"I knew they were yanking my leg", Ginny muttered furiously under her breath.
"So, you are Ronald Weasley's sister huh," I asked Ginny.
"How...", she began but I cut her off.
"I heard you two talking, not that I meant to and also you have red hair like him. I'm in the same year as Ronald", I clarified to her.
"Are you friends with him?" she asked me.
"Oh, no, we are not that close, we just pass each other in classes sometimes that's all," I said.
"Are you hoping to get sorted in Ravenclaw?", I asked Luna.
"I'm fine with Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, I don't think I have the courage to be in Gryffindor and I'm not particularly ambitious to be in Slytherin." She replied.
"Well, I hope you are sorted in Ravenclaw. You have some very interesting views and opinions", I said to her. Her eyes widened and she nodded with a light smile. I doubt anyone other than her parents have said something like this to her.
After some time train came to a halt as we reached Hogsmeade.
"Okay then, I will see you two at sorting, Good Luck. Be sure to enjoy the ride to Hogwarts", I bid farewell to them and went to the thestral drawn carriages.
I saw Anthony, Michael and Terry mount a carriage so I went towards them.
"Hey Haven, come on here", Terry shouted to me as he saw me coming.
" Hi everyone", I greeted them as I got on the carriage.
They began discussing about how they spent their summer. Anthony went to Italy, Michael bought a comet 360 and practiced Quidditch, He's hoping get selected in the try outs this year and Terry spent the summer with his cousin who came to visit from South Africa with his parents.
"What about you Haven?", Anthony asked me.
"Oh, nothing much I just read books. There's not much to do in Orphanage", I replied they became silent after my answer, Anthony looked like he regretted asking me. "Come on guys, don't make those faces. You know I'm not the one to feel sensitive or sad about these things. I'm very happy and infinitely grateful with the life I'm living. I wouldn't change a thing about it", I added to lighten their mood.
We reached Hogwarts and made our way to the great hall. Soon after the sorting started, this year Sorting hat sang a different song to the one it sang last year. As expected Luna got sorted in Ravenclaw. I gave her a thumbs up as she plopped down a few chairs away from me and she gave me a bright smile.
I didn't see Harry or Ron in the Great hall, so that suggests that the events are going as exactly as book at least till now. At last the banquet ended and we were allowed to go to our respective dorms after a few usual warnings and the Hogwarts song. We followed after the first years who followed the prefect to the Ravenclaw common room.
'Tomorrow is going to be awesome, I can finally start doing magic again to my heart's content', I thought as I went to sleep in my four poster bed.
