Bab 284: Frightened Into the Arms of Another

The universe had incredible timing. 

Just as they were talking about being in a world above New Vista, something heavy had been thrown over the fence and went up in flames as it crashed into the ground. It was nowhere near the group of friends but their relaxation was ripped from their grasp.

The trio in the tub grabbed their towels and rushed inside. 

Gus, on the other hand, stayed outside for a moment with a radio handy and a gun from a concealed holster in his waistband. He talked to one of the gate guards for a moment before he headed back inside. 

Not knowing where else to wait for Gus, the trio ran to the office and into the hidden room where he had been seemingly conducting most of his business. 

The old driver found the others there and he tried to use a reassuring tone even though he was just as frazzled as the others. For someone to have gotten that close to the outer perimeter, there were either guards dead or incapacitated.
