Bab 187: Give Up!

Margaret started the ritual process with the same pair of animals: a puppy and a cat.

She has the animals unconscious—just a few minutes apart from each other.

Then she began the process of extracting their souls from their bodies while silently chanting the spell in her mind.

This time, she is better prepared.

She finished the Soul Switch ritual in five hours without fainting!

She opened her eyes and looked at the animals excitedly.

To her horror...

The puppy was lying on the floor of the cage, not moving, while the cat was actively wiggling its tail, looking at her.

"Woof...woof... woooffff!" the cat barked like a dog.

Feeling disappointed, Margaret groaned, "Oh, no! I failed again!"

She shut her eyes for a few minutes, hoping that when she opens her eyes again, the puppy is resurrected, back to life.

When she opened her eyes and directed her gaze to the puppy, it was still lying motionless inside the cage.
