Bab 5: Questioning
To be informed that a survivor from Cosgolonia, which had fallen around 3 system cycles ago, was a surprise, but not an unwelcome one.
Ever since the deployment of cloudknights to the planet, they only found beasts of abundance and dilapidated structures.
From the previous population of 600 million, not even bones were found. Such is the unending virulence of the abundance, the creations of life taking life in mass.
It is truly a curious case to only find a survivor so far into the cleansing of the planet. Could this be a trick of the abundance? It wouldn't have been the first time the abundance had attempted to infiltrate the Luofu. But this was different.
When holding the general position for so long, it's impossible to go that long without learning many tricks, and one of them is learning to trust your intuition.
And my intuition is telling me that this survivor will be a boon to the Loufu.

After looking in awe at the sheer grandiosity of the Seat, I quickly remember the initial reason why I was taken here and calm my expression.
"Impressive, right?" The cloudknight says with a small smirk on her face from my reaction of awe. "This place is where the general resides, and where you will be meeting with him shortly. Although he's not currently here, he will shortly arrive. Just wait here until you are notified of his arrival."
As she begins to walk away, I tear away my gaze from her leaving figure and realize that I've been left here. "Do I just stand here until he comes?" I slightly grimace. This was awkward, and I was beginning to attract the attention of other people besides the guards.
Thankfully, I didn't have to wait much longer as the door opened, holding the General of the Xianzhou Luofu, Jing Yuan.
His lazy expression and casual demeanor gave me the impression that this was merely just another day for him, but I knew that being a general, he had to have something lying beneath that face of his.
"Ah, it's nice to meet you, my friend." He greets me in a casual tone, as he walks towards me. "I've been informed that you were on Cosgolonia when the cloud knights found you, correct? If you're comfortable with it, would you tell us how you ended up there?" And there it was. I knew he was going to ask this. I'll just stick with what I told that cloud knight, what was her name again? It was Xiyan, I'm pretty sure. If I told her and the general two different stories, that would be insanely suspicious, and stupid.
I retell the story to the general, leaving out no details. during my explanation, his face remains neutral, filling me with a slight anticipation of what his comments and questions will be after he knows everything.
"Your information on the events that have occurred has been truly insightful. With everything that's occurred, I would like to put this matter aside temporarily, for a day or two, and allow you to acclimate to the change in environment and fully recuperate from the injuries you suffered." King Yuan says in a tone of finality.
Wait, that's it? That wasn't that bad after all! Although I have to come back and continue this topic in around a day or two, that should be more than enough time to decide what my plans are.
"Thank you general," I say with a relieved smile on my face. Now, where do I go from here?
"If that is all, and if you have no questions to ask, then I shall have a cloud knight escort you to a healer for an overview of your conditions." Although the matter seems to be over, there seems to be a sharpness in the General's eyes. Like a predator lying in wait for prey to make a move.
"Thank you for your assistance throughout this, it's greatly appreciated." I flash him another small smile, as he beckons over a cloud knight, and gives him instructions to bring me to a healer.
Well, that went surprisingly well! Hopefully, it keeps going well until I get off this planet.

[User's Cursed Energy emits a freezing effect on targets struck or objects that draw close while Cursed Energy reinforcement is active. Temperature of the Cursed Energy is based on how much Cursed Energy is being used to reinforce the body.]
Cursed Energy?! This is from Jujutsu Kaisen, right? And I gained a Cursed Energy Trait too! It seems like I'll be able to defend myself now instead of being able to do nothing but run. Does this mean I have an innate domain? Since my Cursed Energy Trait is related to cold, would my technique and domain be related to cold too? It seems to be the case for Kashimo, but wasn't Kinji Hakari's domain completely unrelated to his Cursed Energy Trait?
"Ahem."
I look to see what looks to be a mildly annoyed cloudknight and General Jing Yuan with an amused expression on his face.
"I'll be taking you to the healer now. I hope there won't be any further delays, will there?" I quickly shake my head. "Then follow me." He says as he begins to turn and walk away.
Did I just get distracted again? This is the 2nd time that it happened, do I have ADHD or something?
I quickly stand up and briskly walk after the cloud knight, looking back briefly and seeing the general with that same grin on his face.
I can only hope that this matter is put to rest sooner than later.
