Bab 74: The Burrow

---

"Dad, Mom!"

"Mr. Grindelwald is here!"

William(Bill) Weasley, with his distinctive red hair and a hint of his werewolf ancestry in his appearance, hurriedly opened the door and called out to his parents.

"Hello, Mr. Grindelwald, William Arthur Weasley—Bill for short," he introduced himself as he extended his hand to Dyroth.

Dyroth smiled warmly, placed the gifts he'd brought on a small table, and shook Bill's hand. "Dyroth Grindelwald, a pleasure to meet you, Bill."

Before Dyroth could even get a full grasp of his surroundings, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the stairs, and Mrs. Molly Weasley appeared, greeting him with a warm hug.

"Welcome to the Burrow, dear!" she said, smiling as if Dyroth had been part of the family for years. Arthur Weasley also welcomed Dyroth with a kind smile.

Taking a seat, Dyroth expressed his apologies. "I should've given you notice in advance. I hope I'm not intruding."

"Nonsense! We're delighted to have you here," Mrs. Molly insisted. "I've just baked some fresh cookies this morning. Please, have some!"

As Dyroth sat at the cluttered but cozy kitchen table, he couldn't help but admire the homely yet lively charm of the Burrow. Despite its slightly chaotic appearance, with various magical and Muggle items scattered about, it felt welcoming.

The cookies Mrs. Molly had offered were still warm, and as Dyroth took a bite, the rich buttery flavor filled his senses.

"These are amazing," he said sincerely. "Thank you, Mrs. Weasley."

"Oh, it's nothing, dear. I'll pack some up for you to take back to school!" Mrs. Molly beamed, pleased with his praise.

As she busied herself in the kitchen, Arthur, sitting nearby, spoke up. "How's everything going with the Ministry, Dyroth? I hope they haven't been giving you too hard a time."

"No, not at all," Dyroth replied with a reassuring smile. "Things have settled down after the incident, and they probably won't trouble me again anytime soon."

Arthur nodded in understanding. "That's good to hear. I'll ask around when I return to work, just to keep tabs on things for you."

Just as Arthur was about to continue, a sudden explosion rang out from the backyard, causing Dyroth to instinctively reach for his wand. He quickly realized it was not an attack but something else entirely.

Arthur's sheepish smile said it all, and Mrs. Molly glared daggers at her husband. "Arthur, how many times have I told you to keep your Muggle experiments out of the house?"

"Molly… there's a guest…" Arthur muttered pleadingly, casting a sideways glance at Dyroth.

Mrs. Molly shook her head but refrained from scolding Arthur further, still mindful of their visitor. Arthur, however, looked both embarrassed and apologetic. "Sorry about that, Dyroth. I didn't mean to startle you."

Dyroth chuckled, recognizing the source of the twins' experimental spirit. "No problem, Uncle Arthur. I can see now where Fred and George get their curiosity from."

Arthur grinned, clearly proud. But before the conversation could continue, an idea sparked in Dyroth's mind—Arthur's infamous flying car!

Recalling the events from the original timeline, Dyroth realized that this must be around the time Arthur had completed the enchanted car that Ron and Harry would later use to fly to Hogwarts.

"Uncle Arthur, I've always been fascinated by Muggle items and how wizards modify them. Could I see your collection?" Dyroth asked, his eyes lighting up with genuine interest.

Arthur's face brightened. "Really? You're interested?" In the wizarding world, Muggle objects were often dismissed, which left Arthur's passion for tinkering with them an uncommon and sometimes ridiculed hobby.

"Of course I'm interested!" Dyroth reassured him. "I've heard so much about your work."

Arthur couldn't hide his excitement and led Dyroth to the shed in the backyard. "Come on, let me show you the flying car I've been working on!"

As they walked to the shed, Dyroth glanced around at the Burrow's expansive yet wild backyard, noting the overgrown grass and a nearby pond that looked like it rarely saw upkeep, yet somehow added to the charm of the place.

Arthur eagerly opened the shed door to reveal the old Ford Anglia sitting inside. "This took me a long time to enchant!" he said proudly, patting the roof of the car.

From the outside, it appeared like any ordinary car, but Dyroth could sense the powerful magic running through it.

"Would you like to take a ride?" Arthur offered, clearly eager to show off the car's modifications.

Dyroth paused. "Do you have a… driver's license?" he asked hesitantly, half-knowing the answer.

Arthur's face scrunched in confusion. "A driver's license? What's that?"

Just as Dyroth expected—Arthur was so caught up in the magical modifications that he hadn't even considered something as basic as legal Muggle driving. The thought of flying in an illegally enchanted car with no license, combined with the memory of Ron's erratic flying, made Dyroth a bit uneasy.

Quickly changing the subject, Dyroth asked, "How exactly did you apply the magic to make it fly?"

Arthur, thrilled to explain, launched into a detailed account of how he modified the car's internal workings, incorporating levitation spells and adapting Muggle mechanics to respond to magical controls.

"It's tricky to explain in one go, but I've actually written down all of my ideas and the process. Would you like to see my notes?"

Dyroth's eyes lit up. "I would love that!"

Arthur rummaged through the clutter in the shed, eventually pulling out a dusty notebook. "Here it is! This has everything I've tried with Muggle objects and the flying car."

Dyroth took the notebook gratefully. Inside were numerous hand-drawn diagrams and scribbled notes, a treasure trove of ideas that could be further developed and improved.

"I really appreciate this, Uncle Arthur," Dyroth said sincerely. "This is invaluable."

Arthur beamed. "It's nothing! I'm just glad someone's finally interested."

Just then, Mrs. Molly's voice cut through the air. "Arthur Weasley! Stop filling that boy's head with all your nonsense!"

Dyroth chuckled while Arthur gave a guilty grin. Despite Mrs. Molly's protest, it was clear that this visit to the Burrow had sparked something promising in Dyroth's mind—an idea to combine Arthur's ingenuity with a future vision of enchanted Muggle items, something that might one day revolutionize the wizarding world.
