While the villagers were discussing Isla and Damien's shocking real identities outside, There was a pin-dropping silence inside the flower shop. To be exact, Lance was feeling very awkward between Isla and the duke.

The duke was blatantly staring at Isla as if he couldn't get enough of her presence, while Isla was looking elsewhere and softly brushing Damien's hair.

'What should I say?' Lance wondered, looking for the right words to break the unpleasant atmosphere.

Despite his intense displeasure towards the duke, he couldn't disrespect the latter since in the hierarchy of the empire, the duke was one of the highest positions.

And he was at the bottom of the food chain.The baron title was sadly the lowest in the nobility hierarchy. The only thing flashy about his title was his daughter being in the second highest position in the empire, which was the empress.
