''Mother, the countess really did nothing to you?''

''Damien, how many times have I told you? No she did not. Don't you believe your mother can deal with her?''

''I do…'' Looking at his clenched hands on his lap, Damien replied in a small voice. He did believe his mother. She had dealt with someone like uncle waylen, so he wasn't that shocked.

It's just…Damien had never felt so weak. Then, the countess was someone who he couldn't deal with, but his mother dealt with that latter before the day ended. She was even smiling unlike him who had tried to force his smile to everyone in the Grand duchy.

''Ouch…'' Damien closed his eyes with scrunched brows. At the same time, he rubbed his forehead, then looked up at his mother who withdrew her hand.

''No overthinking, Damien. How many times have I told you that you are a child? Do you want to grow up so badly and leave me behind?''

''Sorry mother…'' Damien apologized with his hand down.
