"... What would Liliana do?" He told her and could plainly see that look of surprise and a hint of disbelief. "Men! Liliana, I've started to think like you and act like you," Tristan groaned.
Liliana shrugged and lowered her gaze. "Isn't it good?" She asked.
"I don't know, I don't..." Her eyes gave him that look as if she already knew what he was about to say.
"You don't like it, you don't like to do good and help others?"
Tristan couldn't answer that question, he just stared at her and Liliana got the answer through his gaze. "Okay," she shrugged again.
Liliana drifted her gaze to the teddy and played with its arms, then her gaze fell on Tristan's arm.
The conversation was dead the moment she said okay even though they needed to have a conversation. A serious conversation. Liliana shot him that askance look and with hesitancy, she picked up his right wrist.
"Tristan, did you try to clean off your tattoos?" She asked, then after questioning him, she averted her gaze and peered at his wrist closely.
Tristan sighed and scratched his forehead. "Is that obvious?"
"I don't think so," Liliana shook her head. "I saw it because my gaze landed on your hand. Why? Are you trying to hide it?"
Tristan drew his hand back. "No, it's just that it doesn't correspond with the thickness," he sounded sad about it.
Liliana just nodded once and returned her gaze to the bear. "So what happened, why has it lost its boldness?" She threw that askance look again.
Tristan didn't know how to tell her and explain to her how he got this strange color mixture. So, he coughed. Liliana showed him that concerned look which melted his heart again, she was concerned again when he faked the cough. Feeling guilty, he stopped when she was about to get up to get water for him to squelch his cough or maybe thirst. "Are you okay?" She asked as he pulled her to sit back by her wrist. Tristan nodded.
"I'm okay, sit down, we need to talk," he lowered his gaze to convince her to sit, and eventually. Liliana settled down but didn't peer at him.
Tristan arched his leg on the chair and place his arm on the headboard. "So, you received my message," he bought her attention. "And I think I've worked hard and...hope you have forgiven me. You have right?" His tone could tell her that she had already shown to him that she had forgiven him already. His tone sounded so optimistic and assured.
Liliana tried not to smile at him as she stared at his face. His face barely showed his real expression and she was surprised and disappointed at herself for realizing that now. Liliana studied Tristan and asked herself. Have they ever had a warm conversation since he moved in? Have they ever been this close to each other? Has Tristan ever smiled at her genuinely?
Probably, she thought because she couldn't remember the moments they shared that were memorable enough except the kiss they shared on the day they played cards. Thinking of cards, she wasn't forgiving him until he played cards with her and she told him so.
Tristan didn't decline, actually, he loved the idea of playing cards with her. If she wins he wondered what she'd request and Tristan was ready to do anything for her to protect her.
To his surprise, Liliana already had the cards with her. Oh, she came prepared for this. Isn't she supposed to be afraid of staying in a room with him? Liliana was so sensitive about sexual acts, she acts like she hated that thing called sex. She doesn't even get associated with any man. Yes, he knew that she wanted to be a nun but now that she couldn't, why hasn't she started going out with men? Is she perhaps in love with a particular man that she didn't want to cheat on?
No, that possibility was totally out of it, Liliana was someone who enjoys her company a lot. Is she perhaps like those people who think people's presence is not worth it? Well, Tristan loved her bravery, even though it could get her killed. She entered his house that night very aware that he might hurt her but still she went in anyway and he definitely did hurt her badly. He wondered how much her nipples must have hurt. But, the fact that she doesn't go out with any man was still baffling him. She was obviously beautiful with her Barbie-looking face and her soft full lips. Who wouldn't want to date Liliana?
Now she entered his house knowing that he was a man and might...would do something sexual to her. Why didn't she think of that? Or was she actually here to...
No, he squelched those never-happening thoughts. Liliana can never come to him for that reason, she was just not pragmatic. She doesn't think twice before doing things and it gets her into trouble.
For some reason, he still regretted what he did to her. Tristan wasn't a good person and he only had bad motives but Liliana, he didn't want to treat her with hatred or no remorse so from now, he would be different to her. He will treat others according to his principles while Liliana would be treated the way she wanted to be treated. He knew it was weird but he wanted to do so. Tristan wanted to make her happy and protect her. He should let himself do what he wanted this time and go against his policies on Liliana's case.
As they played, Liliana wished he wouldn't win but fortunately, he did. He won and with that, their eyes met. They hadn't stared at each other after deciding to play and now that their eyes met. Tristan smiled while she frowned. She was leaning forward and as if concluding that his request would be something ridiculous or sexual. She leaned back against the chair still hugging her teddy bear.
"What's your request now?" She asked and slowly after reading her mind. Tristan was ecstatic about her thoughts. Seems he was wrong all along, she also does have those sexual thoughts. Naughty thoughts. Oh, Liliana, you are just being too cute.
Tristan leaned closer to her and she threw him that look that said. 'What's he going to do now?' and for some reason which she probably knew, her heart began to hammer hard behind her chest bone as images of those acts kept flashing in her mind. Tristan leaned closer, enough to feel the heat being released from her body.
Liliana tried to stay firm, her gaze on him, firm but as he moved closer, she finally shifted a little. To provide enough distance between them. Liliana tried not to look at him but when she sensed he wasn't leaning in anymore. She looked his way and found him staring at her mysteriously. As if asking himself questions about her in his head. And suddenly, she was curious to know what was on his mind.
"Give me a head massage," he finally let out his request.
Liliana's breathing rate now slowly became steady as she had thought he had another motive. "That's your request?" She asked, sounding like she was confirming his statement.
"Yes, or were you expecting something other than that?" He leaned in again. Oh, this Tan doesn't seem to get tired of teasing her. But wait...Tan is a good short form of his name. Tan, Liliana repeated that in her head.
"No, wasn't expecting anything else. Or were you also expecting me to expect something else?" She should also play along.
Tristan's edge of his lips curled up slowly. "Just give me a head massage and we'll play again and if I win..." He threw her that look that caused Liliana to swallow.
"What?" She asked beforehand to know how she'd pray to win because the man sitting next to her was a sorcerer and a man who likes girls.
