Ari glared at her. ''Are you really saying that? It seems you've forgotten who Xavier is. He can lose feelings at any moment, but I'll be left with a broken heart and a load of gossip, which would force me to leave my workplace. I can't risk it, Lu. I'll be a fool to believe him. ''

Lu sighed; ''You're right. People don't change that easily. He has a history of changing women a little too often. He cannot suddenly become a committed person now.''

Ari thinned her lips; ''Everything started when he moved into this neighborhood. Why? Why did he not find somewhere else to stay? Why did he have to come and turn my world upside down?''
