I was running with Haku when he turned to me asking, "So are you sure we can trust the people at this location?"
"Yep, they're the ones who trained me and helped me learn the abilities of my eye's so don't worry we can trust them."
After a few minutes we arrived in front of small cabin. But when we entered inside, the place was deserted.
I walked up to the cabinet picking up a cup. And just as I had remembered, where the cup was previously placed was a button.
I pressed the button dropping the cup back before taking a step back. The whole wall moved back before sliding to the side revealing a white hallway.
I turned to Haku who looked amazed and even more on guard before walking in.
The cabinet went back to it's original position, closing behind us.
We continued walking in the white hallway for a few minutes before eventually finding ourselves in front of a door.
I stopped turning to Haku as I said, "Maybe you should stay here so I can explain the situation or they may get the wrong idea and attack you."
Haku nodded and I entered the room where there was barely any light except for one in the corner of the room.
I froze in my tracks when I heard someone start laughing like some kind of psychopath as they mumbled in a barely audible voice. "Perfect, perfect... I've finally completed it!"
I slowly turned towards the person only to see Haruko.
I hesitated not wanting to disturb her, "...Haruko..."
5 Minutes passed and even though I had repeatedly called Haruko but she hadn't answered me.
I suddenly snapped weaving hand signs and sending a fireball at her. Haruko suddenly jumped out of the way while holding something I could feel murderous intent coming from her.
That's when I remembered Haruko was the old lady's dad's little sister, meaning she also received training to some degree.
The murderous intent suddenly disappeared as Haruko asked, "Hinoka? When did you get here?"
I chuckled nervously happy she had forgetting about the fire ball as I said, "Seriously? I've been in here for 5 minutes now."
Haruko smiled as she said, "Sorry, I don't notice anything around me when I'm immersed in my work. So what brings you here?"
A few minutes passed and Haruko nodded as she said, "I understand you guys can definitely stay her for as long as you need-"
Both me and Haruko turned our attention to the door when I asked, "Hey... is the old lady around?"
"She should be coming to drop of some blood samples today..."
We both ran out only to see the old lady attacking Haku using Taijutsu while he just dogged and blocked.
"It's been a while old lady!" I exclaimed with a gin on my face.
The old lady stopped attacking, turning towards me, "Kid? Your still alive?" she replied also grinning.
I rolled my eyes as I replied, "Yeah, and the person your attacking is a friend of mine."
"Oh, wait a minute why are you here?!"
"Oh come on don't act like you didn't miss me." I said with smug look on my face.
"As if"
Haruko interrupted saying, "Why don't we go sit down somewhere."
I was sitting down across the old lady as I had finished telling her what happened.
She suddenly busted out laughing as she said, "You ended up almost killing the boy your in love with. And you'd have died if Haku didn't save you."
I glared at her as I said, "One I'm not in love with Sasuke-"
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that but I bet before 10 years you'll already have a kid together and if that's the case you have to name them after me." The old lady replied extending her hand.
I shook her hand as I said, "Deal."
I turned my attention to Haku who was sitting next to me and had a smile on his face as I asked, "What's up? Why are smiling like that it's scaring me."
Haku chuckled saying, "I've never seen anyone that can get under your skin and it's the first time I've seen you this relaxed in a while, that's all."
I chuckled saying, "Was I really that tense, sorry. Oh by the way old lady I kind of broke my mask in that fight." before handing her the broken mask.
The old lady looked at me dumbfounded before exclaiming, "I told you this is really hard and rare to get and you broke it that quickly!"
I chuckled nervously before asking, "So can you give me another one?"
I could see the old lady fuming but before she could reply Haruko suddenly ran towards me, she had her white lab coat on and a big smile as she exclaimed, "Hinoka your eyes there even more powerful than we thought they were!"
I turned to her confused as she said, "Your eyes were made from many things the ones that stuck out the most where the Sharingan, the Byakugan and something called the Ketsuryugan though I don't know how they were implanted into you yet. I'm guessing the genjutsu power you have is a mutation of the Sharingan's power and some other component. But the most important part is that only a small portion was used from the Sharingan and others the one that was used the most was the Byakugan meaning you may be able to use one of the Byakugan's abilities or a mutation of it. Though I'm not sure if your body will be able to handle it. Let's go test it out!"
Haruko suddenly grabbed my hand pulling me while exclaiming, "You two also come along."
Before I knew it, I was standing in a large white room with Haruko who had a large smile on her face and stars in her eyes while Haku and the old lady watched behind a glass. Haruko looked at me as she said, "Now first I need you to activate your eyes."
I didn't activate my eyes or say anything as I stared at the ground.
Haruko looked at me confused asking, "Hinoka? Is something wrong?"
"…"
I could hear the excitement in her voice drop as she said, "Oh I get it your not able to, I guess something must have happened… But don't worry it'll be fine I'll just force it activate!"
I was taken aback by her words just as I looked up I barely jumped back as Haruko almost cut me with a scalpel.
She smiled pointing her scalpel at me as she asked, "do you feel it working?!"
"Haruko this is dumb idea one of us could get hurt!" I exclaimed
"I didn't know they trained shinobi's to care about their opponent's safety these days!"
She attacked me again but I blocked her scalpel with my kunai but just as I did she crouched hitting my leg and making me fall as she pointed her scalpel at me.
I spotted Haku and the old lady trying to get in but the door must've been locked.
Haruko started laughing as she said, "Your weaker than usual. I get it, your too scared. Your scared of losing control and hurting someone. Not just that but you've lost the drive that let you kill without feeling anything."
I froze hearing that, was it true?
"Hinoka, your the type of person that wants to protect the people they consider dear no matter what aren't you?" Haruko asked interrupting my train of thoughts.
She continued her voice cold and emotionless, "Well at this point they'll all die. Everyone you care about will die."
I froze hearing that before asking, "What are you talking a-"
But before I could finish the room turned into a hill, I could see the leaf village below.
I could here people laughing, it sounded fun making me completely forget it was a genjutsu. I wanted to go to the village. I tried moving towards the village but my legs wouldn't move.
I tired and tried to move but I couldn't when I heard Haruko's voice as she said, "Now imagine every single person you love, imagine them all dying, imagine someone attacks your village and all you do is stand still and watch as they die. All because you didn't want to use the power you were gifted with. Imagine, your little sister, your father your mother, Haku, your friends, all the people you care about dying right in front of you but your unable to do anything. Just. Because. You were to scared to activate your eyes."
I started getting scared as I asked, "Haruko what are talking about."
"Activate your eyes Hinoka, activate them and you'll be able to save them!"
"Haruko what are you talking about?!"
Haruko just smiled and then the village suddenly exploded I froze my blood ran cold, my heart started beating faster and faster, I could hear people screaming, I could smell blood I fell to my knees using my hands to cover my ears as I tried to ignore everything happening.
"It's only a genjutsu, it's only a genjutsu..." I kept repeating to myself my voice shaking and a smile on my face.
"You don't want them to die do you Hinoka?"
"Shut up!" I suddenly exclaimed
To my surprise Haruko didn't reply everywhere went silent. The genjutsu deactivated.
Haruko was sitting opposite me twisting her scalpel in her hand, playing with it as she said, "I didn't want to resort to this, they may die but just know this is all your fault, Hinoka."
I was confused, what was happening, just then the door froze before suddenly shattering. Haku and the old lady had just taken a step in when I realized something was off. I started running towards them.
Haruko grinned as she said, "Boom."
The whole place where Haku and the old lady where suddenly exploded, the explosion blew me back.
Haruko was sitting opposite me twisting her scalpel in her hand, playing with it as she said, "Trust me I didn't want to have to resort..."
I didn't wait for Haruko to finish what she was saying as my body suddenly moved on it own towards the door. I weaved hand signs before saying, "Water style water prison."
A ball of water appeared in front of the door and just as it did I jumped towards the door. Just a few seconds before I hit the door it froze shattering. One of the frozen pieces slashing my cheek.
I tackled Haku and the old lady pushing them a little farther away from the door as the water ball suddenly exploded.
Steam filled everywhere the old lady and Haku both looked at me surprised.
The old lady was the first to speak as she said, "Hinoka your eyes, the pattern on your left eye changed while the right stayed the same."
I ignored what the old lady had just said as I looked at them and murmured, "Your alive." before suddenly losing conscious.
