Bab 30: Chapter 30: Confession

{Flashback}

Phillip had been living with Elizabeth for weeks now already, and his eyesight had slowly returned, though it had not healed completely. Most of everything was black and white, and so many things he could only see as shadows.

Even Elizabeth’s face, as close as she came to him when changing his bandages, he still couldn’t make out.

Elizabeth had asked him to describe hers to him, once. And she’d watched her reflection in a mirror as he had, and many things he hadn’t even attempted to describe, like her eye color and hair color. But even the things he’d described were a little wrong, her cheekbones he described too low, her mouth too full.

It was helpful to Elizabeth because it told her that he couldn’t separate the time from its shadow, entirely. He could see, but his perception was all wrong.
