Bab 50: Chapter 48

Theodore’s expression changed, darkening, and causing Jayde to choke against the sudden tightness in her throat as he stepped towards her. His eyes were more red than they had been when he had first entered and looked flat, almost lifeless compared to the way they had glistened with glee moments ago. His hands, fists, were at his sides, and it felt like his dark, sorrowful aura overtook her. It tried to tear through the walls Jayde had managed to erect. It made her realize that this was his true self, and she was only getting a tiny taste of the rage he had bottled in his body. He was truly a snarling, hungry beast trying to tear anything into pieces that it could sink its teeth into.

She noted that the guards around them had taken steps backwards, letting Theodore have room even as they watched their master tensely. They honestly looked ready to escape the mansion themselves, making Jayde wonder just how crazy the man in front of her was.
