She strongly wished to die before looking at the apparitions. 

The soldier squinted his eyes, he could see a girl, she was definitely a girl hugging the tree branch but he was little displeased that she didn't answer the voice of their king. 

She should have shouted back to get their attention and be rescued.

"There is a girl," he informed Wan Hu and it was unexpected news. 

"Help her on the boat," Wan Hu immediately ordered, he also could see a girl there under the dim light.
