Bab 20: Chapter 20: Old Flames Can Still Burn

The next day, I head off to the showers with the other inmates. I quickly disrobe when a large inmate makes an um-hum sound in the back of her throat.

"Looks like someone got herself a possessive lover."

My neck throbs where Xanth sucked and bit me and my hand goes up to the spot to cover it instinctively. Just thinking back to the moment sends a shiver of excitement through me. That guy knows his way around a woman's body.

"Don't fret it, god-killer." She winks and goes back to her nozzle, turning the water on full-blast.

Right. I need to hurry up, but my face is burning. I turn to grab the soap when movement catches my attention from the entrance to the shower room. Nelos strides in with two other beefy guys and a brunette who's practically glued to his side.

I spin back to the shower and soap up as fast as I can.

My breathing turns into pants. I can't get the shower to turn on because my hands are shaking and soapy.
