Erin and Lucas both sat quietly as they stare at the altar.
"Is he real?" he can't help but ask.
"What makes you doubt that he's not?"
"It's just that," he failed to continue what he was saying. He wanted to ask why everyone that he has ever loved never ends up being with him in the end?
Lucas reached for his hand.
"It's okay," Lucas assured him. "There will always be times that we question his existence. But it's also in these times that we feel his presence the most. Like when I saw you here today of all times."
"Do you always come here?"
"Not for a while," Lucas smiled shyly. "It's because of a business that I opened recently that I didn't get to come here as often."
It probably is true that God works in mysterious ways. If not, Lucas wouldn't have thought of coming here, when he needed someone by his side the most.
