Bab 92: Reformation

Just as Scott started to move forward, Miss Mercury zipped in front of him with her trademark golden blur to stop him dead in his tracks. Her hands shot out to her sides, palms waving frantically toward Lady Fortress and Pulsar as she laughed nervously.

"W-, Wait! It's not like that! I didn't say my guy because this weirdo's my boyfriend or anything!"

She jerked a thumb back at Scott while obviously avoiding everyone's eyes.

"I was just, uh… you know, trying to give the ugly guy a chance! Yeah, that's it!"

Scott tilted his head. "Ugly?"

Mercury's head snapped back to him, and she winced before quickly plastering on a cocky grin. She placed a hand on his face, then pushed him back just enough to silence him.

"Yeah! Ugly!"

She declared with pride, giving a short laugh as though she'd said something clever. She turned back to the other women, folding her arms smugly under her breasts, making sure they noticed her 'assertive confidence.'
