Best ever ,Totally worth it. It may seem like a basic fantasy anime, but it has so much good content plot-wise and visually: the original novel already had an incredible story, with the humor, fantasy, side-romance, wicked heart-wrenchers, and ridiculously good plot twists; but the donghua brings it to life with its combination of hand-drawn scenes and 3D animation that makes it all so pretty and smooth, ESPECIALLY the action scenes. Since this story has a lot of combat, it makes sense to put extra effort into the character's battles and duels, but this was better than any other action-thriller-fantasy animation I've seen yet. So for my fellow action-lovers, give MDZS a go, because you won't regret it. (Even if you aren't into the xianxia genere, or have never even touched Chinese anime, you'll be blown away by how good it is. Happy watching!!)
i love this storyline damn much ... much better when i start to read it ... i found this story from the drama " The Untamed" ... very much like lan wang ji and wei wu xian ... i like all the main character , they bring a diff type character. hav a lot of moral value that we can learn . wishing they all success in life

I love it! If you told me back in September 2019 that I'll be totally obsessed with c novels.. I'd be laughing really really long. But now after watching "The Untamed", seeing anime version, reading a novel (3 times!) I have to say, that I'm addicted to those characters, to the story, emotions.. every time I see part of chapter, part of an episode it's like coming home. Damm I'm even crying every time I hear Wuji, that's how much this story got me. For those who saw The Untamed I highly recommend to read novel, there were few things I didn't get from watching but it was explained in novel.
This is that kind of novel where you need to prepare your tissues. The each characters have been throughly thought out and crafted, their backstories and their personalities are complex and very real. You will not hate a single character (except for that one XS). They're actions, even though wicked/evil, are based on their "experiences" and eventually, you'll come to understand how they became that way. Everyone is a victim and a perpetrator in their own small ways - even WY at some point became a perpetrator. This novel doesn't only focus on the main characters and also have side arcs and would show you how no one is perfect and and that your every action has thier consequences - even if the thought behind it is good/righteous, it might not fully mean that the result will be good. I feel strongly for the original MXY (not WY). His story will be in pieces and you will need to understand his pains by using others point of views, but I felt very sad for him. For me, MXY is the biggest victim here and everyone was his perpetrator and the biggest perpetrator that caused him his downfall is his own heart. I will never shut up about how much I am pained by MXY's life. It's a complete carnival of gore, horror, fantasy, mystery, A LOT OF ANGST, drama, humor, (warning for 'those kind' of peope) YAOI with R 19+ chapters, Xianxia, cultivation, deception, MC death, pining, AND A WHOLE FUCKING LOT OF SCHEMING, and resurrection. What more could you ask for?! I just wish that the translator(s) in this site will continue thisโค

Heeeeheee I watched "the untamed: special edition" and loved it so much that I wanted to read the book, and i love it even more! The flow is great, the charcaters are interesting and fun, and I can't wait to read more and see how everything really goes ๐๐๐๐๐ค
Most amazing novel i ever read! Well, i watched its anime first, then the live action before reading the novel. at first i cant understand what's happening. glad i found the novel and got the gist of it.
Iโm really excited when i saw this English version. Actually iโve also read the original Chinese version. So after comparison, I feel the translator has tried best to restore the essence of the original book. But till now, it is just a beginning, not a true start between the two majors. I really want to the see the following: the development of relations between two men, HanGuang-Jun and YiLinhg Patriarch. They should have be together but god who knows it is that sorrow finally. It is lucky that they have the second chance to meet again. I am gonna cry every time when I think of it.

This is literally my favorite novel, anime and Chinese drama ever. And let me say, I've seen a LOT of things out there. I've watched every yaoi/shounen-ai/BL anime out there, and this tops it. Even though the anime had a very subtle gay tone to it. BUT BACK TO THE NOVEL! I loved it! It knocked me off my feet. The character development was fantastic, and plot was well-rounded with a gripping storyline. You feel what the characters feel, and you share the experience with them. It's a must-read! Also, for the fujoshis, you'll love the touchy-touchy stuff they've got in here.
