Leah strode confidently into the dimly lit room, her heels echoing against the stone floor. Shadows pooled in corners, casting eerie shapes along the walls, but her focus was solely on the bed where her stolen prizes—the twins—lay. However, her confident smirk faded immediately as she took in the scene. Her witches, the skilled ones she'd personally selected to carry out the kidnapping, lay sprawled across the floor, their lifeless bodies twisted into unnatural positions. Their bodies were twisted and mangled in ways that seemed unnatural, as if a force beyond physical might had torn into them, leaving their faces frozen in expressions of terror. Blood streaked the walls in dark, dripping arcs, the coppery scent thick in the air, blending with something else she couldn't quite place—a deep, unsettling coldness that seemed to coil around her.
