Bab 13: Bow Down
It was the day after Edward announced his marriage to Elizabeth. Now he must introduce her to his entire family, and his court of course. As I got ready to accompany my daughter on her journey to becoming the Queen Of England.
'Never in a lifetime did I think I was gonna become the Queen Of England.'
'Or that my children might one day rule the country their father fought hard to get.' Now I can only pray this ride will be bumpy, but I can also pray along the Journey that we won't find a volcano.
Today I will meet with The King's most trusted servants. No one is really happy about this marriage. They were furious to find out the king had taken a peasant as his wife, even angrier that they didn't get a big wedding. Which it really isn't any of their business.
There were already Horses outside by the time I had finished getting ready. My whole family was to accompany me to meet Edward at the Palace.
My brother's had ridden ahead of us to get there first, and to make sure there weren't people ready to attack me there. I prepared myself for the name calling, that I will have to accept.
We arrived at last to the Palace. As I got off my horse anyone who had common sense would Bow Down. That included my Father, John and of course Antony. They bowed Down alright, "Antony."
"I'm sorry sister."
"Sorry for what exactly." I giggled in a fun way, I was only playing with my brother. But he was in the wrong for believing Edward has just been using me for my body, or to get me in bed.
"For being too quick to judge the king...., and for calling you names."
"You can stay down there." I laughed.
A few seconds past and "get up."
"Thank You sister." Just then was when we heard voices behind us, not very kind voices. "Slut!"
"Whore"
"Stupid Peasant" Antony quickly tried to stop them, but my mum stopped him before he could do anything. "Antony we must let them speak. Of course their angry this news popped in their faces out of nowhere. We must expect things like that since we had a private wedding."
As soon as Edward heard we had arrived he came outside, down the stairs, and up to me. "Hello Elizabeth."
"Good Morning Edward." I smiled, I completely forgot about the scene that had just happened as I fixed my eyes on the man who stood in front of me.
"May I introduce you to my family, Queen Elizabeth?"
"Your the King why should you ask questions." We walked over to the stairs, where Edwards Brothers and Sisters Stood. His cousins, their Children.
"This is my sister, Mary." I smiled at her and simply said "Hello"
"This Is my Brother George."
"Nice to meet You Elizabeth." You might wanna him, he plays a major role in the rule of Edward IV.
"This is my Younger Brother Richard."
"Hello, lovely to finally meet you." Richard will go From a Duke to King, he also plays a major role in the rule of Edward IV.
"This is my cousin you've already met him Richard Neville, His Wife Anne. Along with his two children Isabel and Anne." The Neville's will be the cause of trouble in this Court. Richard Known as the King maker puts Edward on the throne, but Takes him off of it too. Ruining the futures of his 2 daughters.
From Richard's Point Of View
That whore, using herself as a weapon to get onto the throne. Will I be surprised if she turned out like Margaret Of Anjou, not at all. My aunt will not accept, not today not any day. Let's see how long she stays on the throne before it kills her.
"That my wife is the one I was talking about. She had control over Edward, she will only use him to get on the throne."
"I see" Edward Seemed to be proving useless as a king.
I walked through the halls of the palace. Very beautiful, I was about to go meet with the Duchess of York. The one and only, Edward's Mother.
Me and my mother, along with my new ladies walked into the room together. The cleared my throat to get her attention.
Her ladies quickly got off of her and Bowed Down. Or may I say Courtesy.
She looked at me stone cold, "I am not happy with this marriage."
