I sigh. "I had hoped it would last just a bit longer, but it is not a deity's duty to spend their existence with a mortal haaaaaaa," I sigh again. Just keeping Aesar in my domain for this long drained this much energy. I would've met with him as soon as he had awoken, but lukos and kallace tried to persuade me out of it. They kept arguing that choosing a champion would only weaken me further. I guess they were right, but there are very few ways to turn back time, so we'll have to carry on. Besides, I'm not unhappy with this outcome. I summon a cushioned seat and fall right in it to try and relax my nerves when I was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a domain portal opening, and a deep voice accompanied by the howls of a wolf pup.
"Vera. We warned you not to do this and how much it would drain you."
I stand and desummon the seat, turning to the familiar voice. "And I've told you I don't care about the cost. If I'm going to fade, I might as well do something worthwhile, lukos," I said. Lukos, one of my few friends among the divine circle, is the deity of wolves, hunting, and feasts. He is nearly two heads taller than me with tanned skin, usually wearing an assortment of hiding clothing. Beside him, sitting down, Is a dark blue and purple wolf pup. Both are somehow wearing a saddened expression which is rare on lukos' face.
He sighs, "There's no going back then. I...hope you don't regret this." His saddened expression turned to his trademark neutral as he picked up the wolf pup beside him. "The next time your champion visits, send him my regards and leave this one in his care. I'm sure he'll find her company quite bountiful."
I give him a surprised expression, "You're willing to give one of your children to him?" As the wolf diety, technically any and all wolves are his children, but those born within the divine circle are much closer in blood. He is prideful by nature, so the thought of giving a divine wolf to a mortal is unthinkable. He laughed, his expression softening, "She is the runt of the current litter, the competitiveness of wolves guarantees she wouldn't last long, even if she is female. It brings me great sadness to see one of my children die due to their own nature. Hopefully, your champion can take better care of her than me."
He slowly hands me the wolf pup with a neutral face, but I can see deep down in his eyes a certain sadness. "well, my business is concluded. I shall inform kallace of your condition then return to my domain," He thinks for a moment, "Do you think he'll live for long? Depending on where you put him, he coul-" His words froze as he saw my face. I DIDN'T SPECIFY WHERE HE WOULD ARRIVE! I set the wolf pup down and quickly used scrying magic to try and find him as I see lukos do the same. Minutes pass, and I couldn't find him anywhere, but I heard a light chuckle from my side, "He'll live. You got lucky vera if he were sent into the ocean or the abyss, he wouldn't last a second, haha" I breathe a sigh of relief, "where is he?"
"He was sent into the forest a little ways away from Else Thalis, one of the few elven cities that accept a human populace, if he can find the main road, I'm sure he'll be well on his way" At his words, my worries rise a little bit. The elves are not known for their kindness to other races, and they don't accept a majority of deities meaning my influence cannot easily reach him.
"you worry too much. If he is truly a descendent of otherworlders, he'll persevere. Besides, I've been to else thalis before, they truly are inclusive of most races, I wouldn't doubt if some of my children were there as well", he calmly says. "If they are, I'll send an order to watch over him, or at least to not bother him."
"Thank you, lukos, I truly appreciate this," I thank him. If he had died so quickly due to my oversight, I'm not sure I would cope easily. He nods, "I'll be in my domain if you need anything." He looks at the wolf pup by my feet, "Kalvera is your master now, little one. Listens to what she says."
The wolf pup whines a little bit but concedes as she lays down defeated. He turns around and opens a domain portal, looking into it, I see a dark forest with wolves waiting on the other side. "See you around Vera," He says as he enters the portal and closes it behind him. With his departure, silence ensues. I look down at the wolf pup and pick her up as I summon the seat back. I pet her soft fur and focus on recovering my energy back. What an exciting few hours, huh? As soon as I get my energy back I'll scry on Aesar, I just need to rest a moment...

I wake up to the sight of leaves and the beautiful sounds of birds. Getting up from the soft grass, I decided to examine my surroundings. A forest, huh? Interesting. Looking up, I see the sun barely through the thick canopy of leaves. The trees themselves are giant, or at least larger than I expected. Maybe I'm smaller than I thought I was? No, everything else seems to be at a normal height. "What to do now..." I mutter. With no clue where I am and no means of knowing, the only option is to pick a random direction. Hopefully, this time I actually find something. I take a deep breath of fresh air, the earthy scent fills me with a calming sensation. For the second time, I choose a random direction and just walk.
