"Nothing important. Like how unimportant you are, mister." Jerrod replied and also copied the guy's taunting tone.
It made the guy's veins pop, as he was already hating Jerrod for no reason. The guy felt agitated with Larissa and Jerrod's nonchalance towards his presence. He picked up the gallon of milk inside his cart and angrily threw it towards Jerrod while loudly cursing at him. "You piece of shit!"
"Jerrod!" Larissa shouted, as she reflexively moved in front of Jerrod, shielding him like a superhero. She caught the gallon of milk without blinking an eye and put it down as if the 9 lb item was lightweight. "Mister, we are calling the police for this!" she warned the guy, but its attention was not on her as it was looking up at Jerrod shakingly. Strangely, the guy's angry expression turned into cowering, as if he saw something frightening.
Larissa turned her head to check what the guy was seeing and could only see Jerrod's gentle smile.
The supermarket policy mentioned above is based on my work experience. I don't know if this also happens on the other side of the world, but it really happens here.
