Bab 26: Act 4, Chapter 6

However, the fear suddenly turned to anger, the same thing happened upstairs in the bathroom when he left the words on the mirror.

Fear decreased and anger at the unwanted soul in your home increased.

Cardboard boxes had been assembled and stacked and stood in front of one of the two large windows in the guest room, darkening the room significantly and one corner of the room was even completely cut off from the light.

In your anger, however, you didn't see the silhouette in the said corner before you simply kicked the cardboard boxes away, completely overcome with anger.

A few of them flew across the room, released the missing light and together with the dark corner disappeared the figure, Chrollo, who previously covered himself in it.

Again and again you kicked the boxes, kicked them across the room.

"Stop it!" you shouted in anger and frustration before one last kick flattened one of the boxes.

With a slightly heavier breath you almost stormed out of the room, pulling the door so hard it slammed shut.

You dropped into one of the chairs at the dining room table, rubbing your temples with your indexfinger and thumb to calm yourself down.

You sighed once more before starting to eat breakfast.

Was Chrollo trying to take possession of your house?

You still understood that he darkened the cellar and attic, he was used to having these available and Abir had only said it wouldn't matter too much.

But now he even tried to take over the guest room, apparently he knew that you didn't dare to enter a dark room.

What you would give to be able to ask Abir for advice right now.

The thought made you nauseous, you had almost forgotten how dangerous Chrollo could be.

Abir had not fled without reason, if you made him too angry for even a moment he could surely kill you if he wanted to.

You could only hope that if you were ever careless, which was sure to happen, the affection Chrollo seemed to feel towards you would save your life.

A few hours later you were in the car and on your way to the supermarket.

Once there you grabbed the drinks you needed and some snacks before heading to the cash register to pay.

The glass bottles containing the alcohol kept clinking against each other after you put them in a bag and you felt a bit like an alcoholic.

When you went out you almost overlooked it and had to take a few steps back to be able to read it.

A note hung on one of the pillars just before the exit: 'we are hiring' was written on it.

You read the note, ripped off the e-mail address that was on a paper fringe and took it with you.

You also took a picture of the job ad before you got back in your car and drove home.

When you got out of the car in your driveway you looked up automatically and saw that your bedroom window was open, as it always was.

You took a moment to calm yourself, then you took the groceries out of the car and put them away in the kitchen where they belonged.

When only the snacks were left in the bag, you simply turned the bag over and emptied it onto the kitchen counter.

The receipt and e-mail address also fell out of it and onto the counter.

After the snacks were safely stowed away, you picked up the note with the e-mail address.

That same evening you wrote the application and sent it off, if they accept you you could start early or late next week.

When it was getting late and, above all, dark, you went upstairs and got ready for bed.

You were afraid of tomorrow because tomorrow was the funeral you swore yourself you would go to, and you would.

You put the things you wanted to wear tomorrow on the armchair before you made yourself comfortable in bed.

You had the notebook in your hand and were sitting up in bed with your blanket covering your legs.

You turned the book in your hand, took a closer look at the front and back.

But nothing was different than last time.

Even when you opened the book and read page by page again, everything was the same as before, only the drawing of you that Abir had drawn in was new and the text she had left behind.

When you reached the page and re-read what was written on it, you became painfully aware of the situation once more.

You clutched the book to your chest, page still open.

You were completely on your own with this problem.

No one but Abir and you knew about it and the only person outside of you two had died.

Suddenly, a thought entered your head that you hadn't even considered before.

What if chrollo had something to do with your great uncle's death?

No.

No, it couldn't.

Or could it?

What if he had done something to Abir too?

In a horror movie you once saw a ghost show a ghostbuster his own death at the hands of that ghost, maybe Chrollo did the same to Abir?

Was that why she left, to protect herself?

Could he hurt your parents?

Your friends, relatives?

You had to swallow hard.

You were fine being the one in danger, more or less, but you couldn't pull innocent bystanders into any of it.

But you'd only seen that in one movie, what did screenwriters and producers know about ghosts?

Of course they didn't know anything, hopefully they didn't know anything.

Despite the fact that you were awake for about an hour because of your doubts, it was very quiet in the house.

You didn't even notice that that evening, you only noticed it the next morning.

Not that it bothered you, it was just unfamiliar.

This morning felt weird, sluggish and sad.

When you looked out of the window you could just make out a few tree trunks because a dense fog had apparently settled during the night.

One look up and you saw the gray and dark sky making it look like early morning even though it was only 10am.

'It could start raining any minute' you said to yourself in your mind and sighed.

At least the weather matched your emotions.
