Bab 31: Chapter 31: Cookies and Cake (4)
~Third POV~
Deathstalker.
As opposed to most Creatures of Grimm, which have black fur or feathers, a Death Stalker has a jet-black exoskeleton underneath several large, white, bonelike plates upon its back, which are adorned with red markings.
One of the more prominent attributes of this Grimm is the glowing golden stinger on its tail that it uses as a lure. It also has a pair of large pincers that it uses to defend itself and grab or cut into its prey. The Death Stalker's ten red eyes and markings can also glow in the dark when it chooses to reveal itself to its prey.
The Giant Death Stalker encountered now in front of team GRNN members Ruby, Albus, and Nora clinched their weapons as it squealed it's dominance on them as they backed off activating their <Aura>.
The Emerald Forest has what appears to be moss or grass growing on its claws and torso, indicating that it had been lying dormant in the cave for a long time. It also has visible scars on its carapace, signifying its advanced age. This is further reinforced by the crude drawings made on the entrance to the cave.

[Weakness: Eyes, legs, and limbs for critical damage!]
As they make their distance away from the Deathstalker Albus began to use <Dark Glyph> to make the target blind to them as it began to observe confused as he gave commands, "Nora! Ruby! Make a mad dash towards its eyes, legs, or limbs to deal more damage!"
*Swoosh*
*BAM*
*SLASH*
Following orders and agreed Nora managed to go for its legs singing to herself happily following Albus' command, "I'm Queen of the Castle! I'll gladly follow you fearless leader to breaking some legs!!"
Ruby using her Semblance <Petal Burst> while using her Crescent Rose weapon slashing up the limbs and taking out the stinger on it as she spoke to herself as it flails, "This would've been hard if it wasn't flailing around. At least taking care of this would be easier blind. Hiyaaah!"
"Squee!"

Albus seeing this made his eyes widen at this as he quickly uses his <Light Glyphs> under Nora and Ruby as he thinks to himself as he narrows his eyes at the Grimm, 'Clever girl… I didn't even know it had this skill. Keeping this up will force me to use up my AP quicker. Good thing I got those passive skills before this Boss Battle.'
However, that was when it screeched out somewhat scaring the girls a bit before Albus gets them out of it as he then used <Light Glyphs> as placeholders on them as their minds began to revert to normal again.
Nora and Ruby getting confused Albus made them realize what was happening as he gave them the brief actions that occurred, "Ruby! Nora! The Deathstalker screech made you fall to fear! Go for the long range!"
Raising his The List and Melodic Cudgel he began to release some flares, Ice, and Fire Dust at the Grimm as it screeches more in pain as its movements have been cut off. Ruby and Nora followed suit as their eyes narrowed at it.
*BANG*
*Bang*
*BANG*
*BOOM*
Releasing their loads of bullet shells at the Grimm at a safe distance the Deathstalker screeched in pain as the effects of <Dark Glyph> is done as it managed to gather its sights again glaring at Albus in front of him.
But with the constant fire of rounds and waiting for his AP to recover thanks to his boost he waited as he saw that the Grimm managed to recover as it crawls towards Albus' direction as his eyes widen at this.
But he clams down thanks to <Gamer Mind> calming his nerves as he turns the handle of Melodic Cudgel towards a tree as he released the launch hook handle gun attached to it as it was shot out.
*Bang*
*Thud*
Activating the button on the cane Albus was quickly taken away from the scene as he avoided the crawling Grimm as he reloaded The List using Telekinesis and fired more rounds into the scorpion-like Grimm angering it while landing critical hits in the process.
*Bang*
*Bang*
Landing the shots in its eyes was easy with his <Marksmanship> skill getting a better aim and leveling up in the process. When the few seconds were up and his AP was just enough Albus used <Telekinetic Pull/Push> pushing it upward with strain on his part shown as veins pop from his head as he told his members, "RUBY! NORA! NOW THE TIME!"
"Roger Albus!"
"Yes, Fearless Leader!"
*SWOOSH*
*SLASH*
*BAM*
Synchronizing with each other attacks as the Deathstalker was flown into the air Ruby and Nora managed to damage the Grimm causing it to disappear made a smile on Albus' face but the noticeable exhaustion on his teammate's faces told them enough as they are tired and best to retreat.
But that was when he got a title finally from defeating the Boss.

Man, that was a bit too close for my liking but I did jump up 6 more levels from this little trip though. Then again it was against a Boss Level enemy as I couldn't see its level but the rewards I got from this are good.
Still, though that boss was at level 600 huh?
Even I got a title that came along with it helping my teammates in need. But first things first time to see my stats.

Hmm… a nice decent 30 bonus points stats I have… better to save it for later in case of an emergency increasing my power. But first I came over to Ruby and Nora as they seem tired as I spoke with some concern, "Nora. Ruby. Are the both of you ok from that? The <Fear> from the Deathstalker seems to have affected you? Are you both alright?"
Panting and the expressions of fear passing the second on their faces they nodded that they are fine… at least what they believe to be fine as I shake my head of this, "Ok then. If that's the case how about we call it quits for the day. You two helped me plenty raising my levels and searching the Emerald Forest."
Nora was very quick to interject about this shaking her hammer slighting with her go-to attitude as she tries to convince me otherwise, "B-But fearless leader… we can still go on, right? I mean we – "
Interrupting her I pointed out another issue that why we can't go any further as I know at this point Nora is just trying to help, "Nora. It's fine there will be another time to help me I promise. But I won't allow the both of you to place yourself in further danger at least like this. Besides the two of you seem to be out of Dust Shells and ammunition right?"
Silence.
But they nodded their heads at this as I was thankful they understand. Having melee fighters is good but against foes that use wings or attacks from afar that would leave us in a tight bind for us if we progress further.
They aren't like me as I can do this possibly continuously but they can't. It's admirable they want to continue for my sake but I think I may have found another method around this but I know when to call it quits with others as they can't keep up.
However, I can't say I'm not unhappy about this. I'm glad they helped and for that, I can be in their debt for their kindness as we all began to exit out of the Emerald Forest. I can investigate the items later but they are certainly something to look forward to in the future.
Casting a glance at them I gave them my deepest gratitudes for helping me this far for getting me those levels, "Still though I doubt I could've faced that Deathstalker on my own. For that, you two have my deepest respect for helping. I thank you for being in my team."
The two sheepishly smiled at that clearly enjoying the compliments as I see some windows pop up.

Once returned safely we managed to get home into our dorm rooms as Ruby and Nora flop on the bed as they are definitely going to be out of commission after this restocking on their weapons and ammo.
But at this time I began to split the Lien with them as they happily took it as we talked about the events while I observe mission rewards while disbanding the 'Cookies and Cake' party as I got the rewards from the mission.

Make that level 26 now with my bonus stats being now a decent 40 as things stand now. For now, though I need time to practice more on my other skills all in all this has been a good grinding party with Nora and Ruby leveling up 6 times from this.
This makes Ruby Lv.75 and Nora Lv.72 from this trip as they already began to relocate their stats into areas they needed to be placed in. At least from their perspective but all in all this has been a good grind fest.
Hope the next day is better but for now, I need some rest before training the night again.
