Bab 17: Impromptu Date & The Town of Havenstone
As we made our way out of the guild, the setting sunbathed the town of Havenstone in a warm golden light, casting a magical glow over the bustling streets. We decided to spend the rest of the evening on an impromptu date, exploring the charming town together.
"How about we enjoy the town for our date until we arrive at the inn Elara recommended first, so we can get something to eat and relax for the rest of the night?" I suggested, looking at Amy and Mai, who seemed bursting with excitement for the date.
"That sounds fine, Master, but you haven't spent money in this world before, so please let me get our rooms," Amy replied with a playful wink at Mai, hinting at their secret plan.
These two girls must be plotting something. Oh well, if they are happy and smiling, I guess it is fine, I thought to myself as Mai and Amy started pulling my arms.
"Come on, let's hurry, Rei. I want to see the town!" Mai exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"All right, all right, don't pull," I chuckled, playfully teasing them as we strolled through the charming streets of Havenstone.
As we walked, we passed several merchants and citizens who seemed to be in stunned silence when we walked by them. It was clear that our group, with Amy and Yami by our side, was attracting quite a bit of attention.
"Hey, have you seen that guy over there? The one with the long black hair, muscular build, and those striking cobalt eyes? He's quite the catch!" a woman said to her friend, trying to discreetly nod in our direction.
Her friend nodded in agreement, her eyes lighting up with admiration. "Yes, he's insanely handsome, and he has such a mysterious aura about him."
I blushed slightly at the compliment, trying to remain humble as I exchanged amused glances with Amy and Mai. Amy, never one to miss an opportunity for playful banter, couldn't resist teasing me a bit, "Looks like you've got some fans, Master. Your charms are working wonders here too!"
I playfully brushed off the attention. "Oh, please. They're just curious, I'm sure."
Mai, still blushing but enjoying the moment, added, "Well, you do have a certain charm about you, Rei."
Meanwhile, as the townspeople marveled at me, Yuki and Yami, the two pups, were having a playful romp a short distance ahead. Yuki, the white and fluffy pup, chased Yami, the black and mischievous one, in a delightful game of tag.
"Look at those adorable pups! They must be having a blast with that charming guy," a man commented, earning a chuckle from his companions.
Another man grinned and nodded, "And did you see the two lovely ladies with him? Talk about a lucky guy!"
Back with our group, Amy continued the playful banter, "Absolutely! Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by such beauty and cuteness?"
Mai giggled, "And the best part is, we all get along so well."
I rolled my eyes playfully, "Okay, okay, enough teasing. Let's focus on enjoying our date and enjoy it until we get to the inn."
As we continued to explore the charming town of Havenstone, I couldn't help but be enchanted by its quaint beauty. The cobbled streets were lined with charming little shops, each one bursting with colorful displays of goods. The sweet aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries wafted through the air, making my stomach rumble with anticipation.
When we finally arrived at the Horned Wolf Inn, the exterior was adorned with a beautifully crafted wooden sign swinging gently in the breeze. The inn's walls were made of sturdy stone, exuding a sense of reliability and comfort. Soft golden lights spilled out from the windows, creating a cozy ambiance that beckoned us inside.
"Wait here, Master. I will get our rooms," Amy said with her cute tail swaying back and forth.
"Wait, why do we need to wait..." However, before I could finish my sentence, Amy had already darted into the inn, leaving Mai and me outside.
"Mai, do you know something about this?" I asked, looking into her eyes with curiosity.
"Not...not at all. Ehehe," Mai answered, trying to hide her excitement but blushing, nonetheless.
They are plotting something, I thought to myself, and suddenly it clicked in my head. "So that's their goal. I guess it's fine since we are in a relationship already, but I need confirmation," I contemplated.
"Mai, you better tell the truth, or I will punish you," I said, with a teasing smile.
"How will pu…punish me?" Mai asked, her face flushing even more.
"I don't know, maybe like this," I replied, gently lifting Mai's chin and leaning in to kiss her softly. Her lips were soft, and her scent was sweet. When I pulled away, Mai looked at me with her beautiful ruby-red eyes, seemingly asking for me to kiss her again.
Just as the atmosphere around us grew even warmer, Amy's voice called out from inside the inn.
"Hey, you lovebirds! Are you ready to come in or do I need to get a bucket of water to cool you down?" Amy teased; her mischievous grin visible from the doorway.
Embarrassed and laughing, Mai and I held each other's hands while looking at Amy standing at the door with a sly expression on her face.
"What's with that face, Amy?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, nothing. Just excited to get something to eat." she replied, her tail swishing happily.
Amy then playfully added, "But, no fair, I want to be kissed by Master too."
Mai blushed, and I chuckled at Amy's fake jealousy. "There's plenty of me to go around," I said with a wink and a smile.
With that, we entered the cozy inn. As we entered, the inviting aroma of a warm hearth greeted us. The interior was just as charming as the outside, with wooden beams crisscrossing the ceiling and a crackling fireplace casting a warm glow over the room. The soft chatter of patrons and the clinking of glasses added to the pleasant atmosphere.
Behind the counter stood the inn's manager, a friendly and matronly woman with a warm smile. Her name was Mrs. Harper, and she welcomed us with open arms. Her eyes twinkled with kindness as she took in our group.
"I have a lovely room prepared for you, dear travelers," Mrs. Harper said, handing me a brass key. "Room number seven, just up the stairs, first on your left."
My curiosity piqued, I looked at the key and then back at Amy and Mai, who were trying their best to hide their excitement. It didn't take long for me to realize their playful plot. They had arranged for us to share the same room.
"Mai, Amy, what's this all about?" I asked, unable to hide my amusement.
They exchanged guilty glances, but before they could reply, Amy chimed in, "Well, Master, we thought it'd be more fun if we all stayed in the same room. You don't mind, do you?"
"Of course not," Mai added, her cheeks flushed with a mix of embarrassment and excitement.
I chuckled, "No, I don't mind at all. As long as we're together, it's perfect."
And so, we made our way up to the room, guided by the soft golden glow of the lamps. The cozy interior was perfect, with ample space for the three of us. The thought of spending the night together filled me with happiness and a sense of deep connection.
As we settled into our room, laughter, and whispers of affection filled the air. The warmth of the fireplace and the comfort of the bed made the room feel like a haven for our tired souls.
Under the soft blankets, with Amy and Mai by my side, and Yuki and Yami laying at my feet, I felt a profound sense of contentment and love, something I hadn't felt in a long time before I was sent into this world. Silently, I thanked whoever sent me here.
As the night grew darker, we talked, ate, and laughed. The inn and the town of Havenstone had supplied the perfect setting for a date we would cherish forever.
As the day's excitement finally caught up with us, one by one, we drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's warmth and love. The soft murmurs of our dreams filled the room, creating a peaceful and intimate atmosphere.
