Bab 69: Chapter 27 - Mariano (2)

No one has ever asked me that before. All my life, I've yet to hear wives or daughters from the other families saying they want to see THE family business, so I'm quite unsure how to respond.

The only serious girlfriend I had didn't want anything to do with it—if anything, she acted as if it didn't exist. We never talked about it. And whenever there was something remotely related to it, I didn't tell her and she didn't press on it either. 

Therefore Riri asking me to see how we do the business throws me a little off-balance. I'd expected her to ask something else, like… I don't know, something related to art, since she paints, or whatever field she's also interested in. Books maybe? She seems to love reading. There are several paperbacks and hardcovers on top of her dresser. I'll build her a library if that's what she wants.
