I realized that he must have been listening in on our conversation and observing me. I had no idea when he arrived or how much he saw and heard, but it truly gave him the wrong understanding of the situation.

"That's not true. He invited me, but I was about to turn him down before you appeared," I tried my best to correct his misunderstanding. The way Raphael let out a scoff told me he didn't believe a single word I was saying.

"Were you planning to have sex with him?" Raphael asked bluntly. My eyes widened in shock at his abrupt question because the notion had never entered my mind.
