She didn't want to water the doubts in her heart. Maybe if Tony avoided talking about their past she wouldn't doubt him. She avoids talking about the past too. If they bury it somewhere, they don't have to bring it up for any reason. 

Yes, she dated another man. It was not like she was tied to him. She owes him no explanation. She was hurt a little as he brought up her relationship with Aiden. 

It happened. 

She regrets it happened, but it happened. She cannot change that.
