Bab 10: 10. Chat with Syr.
Yeah, doesn't matter much how many YouTube videos you watch unless you specifically take the time to understand and learn them then practice the skills. You'll still be the same person you were before you got reincarnated.
I picked up a rather decent sized backpack at one of the stalls relatively cheaply. I still plan to do more dungeon diving once the gaurds stop worrying about the explosion I had caused.
"Oh Ryan are you done with your studying for today?" The voice of Syr sounds out.
Spotting the gray haired woman with an arm full of flier I walk over. "Hello Syr, yeah I'm done for the day. Studied up to the 5th floor and looked up contracts most of the Familia use." I tell her.
"Did you find a familia you are looking to join?" She asks curiously.
"Nope, I haven't looked yet. Like I mentioned before I would rather not get scammed by some god or goddess. I would still prefer to have a beautiful goddess as my familia head, don't think I would be comfortable with a god rubbing my back to update my status." I admit.
"Oh? Are you hoping for a relationship with your familia goddess?" Syr asks with a grin.
Ryan just shrugs. "If I'm going to be in a familia it would be best to have a good relationship with the goddess in charge. Still most goddesses or gods are pretty whimsical having relationships all willy nilly, I wouldn't want to be a part of someone's harem personally. A goddess who satisfies multiple men to me or is already in a relationship just sounds repulsive to me." Ryan admits.
"Have you never been to the red light district? It's pretty much the same thing." Syr says.
"No, I have never been to the red light district. I don't want some sloppy seconds from some sweaty muscular adventurer. I don't want sloppy seconds at all." Ryan says with a frown of disgust.
"Sloppy seconds?" Syr asks with confusion.
Ryan just shakes his head. "Nevermind. So how's work?" watching the gray haired woman pass out fliers as she ponders over something.
She offers a bright smile. "It's going well. Are you going to eat here today?"
"I still need to save up money or I'm going to be living at the Inn forever." I deny.
"You still need to eat." She says with a frown.
I just laugh, that is actually optional to me.
"What's so funny?" Syr asks with a pout.
"Nothing, nothing." I wave her off.
Her eyes narrow for a second though and she reaches her hand up and grabs part of my shirt.
"Why is there blood on your shirt?" She ask with a frown.
"There was an explosion in the dungeon and I was too close and the sound blew out my eardrums." I explain.
"Explosion? Are you alright?" She asks with worry.
"I'm fine it got healed so I'm good. You should start hearing something about the loud noise in the dungeon soon, the gaurds are looking into it. I left early so I wouldn't get dragged into whatever is going on." I tell her. "Probably end up arrested or something because I don't have a familia and look suspicious."
"Probably, are you sure you are okay?" She asks looking at my ears.
"I've been standing here talking to you the entire time so I should be fine." I point out.
"Well that's true." She frowns.
"Anyway, I should let you get back to work. Wouldn't want you to get is trouble." getting a quick goodbye I head back to my Inn not really interested in looking around the town right now. I'm going to look over the contracts again see if there are any little loop holes i should be worried about.
Little tricky shit like only being able to have your status updated on a Thursday at 2 am under a full moon or something.
Seems some of the familia have competitions for recruiting. The better you do at the competition the bigger the benefits. This was how people are normally recruited by the bigger familia or they would be annoyed the whole time by small fry trying to enter their family.
I do wanna get falna after all, I just don't want the problems that come with it. Well these mostly matter if I plan to join a big familia.
The next day I arrived back at the guild and heard the rumors about the explosion in the dungeon but ignored them. Rose was already waiting with a stack of paper on various familia.
"Alright then, first off do you want to join a large familia or a small one?" She asks.
"Small please." I request.
She pulls off various papers. "Alright then. These are the gods and goddess with few or no familia members. Let's start with this one. Eris, the goddess of strife, chaos and discord."
Ryan had a funny look on his face. "Absolutely not, do you want to cause me problems? That sounds exactly like the type of person to cause me problems." i deny it instantly.
Sadly most of the goddesses with few to no children in their familia were evil or had incredibly bad habits. The list was pretty bad honestly.
"Then we have Hel, the goddess of death. Seems most people just find her presence unsettling and creepy. Meaning nobody wishes to join her familia." Hmm that was a name I had recognized.
"What is her personality like?" I ask the woman.
"Eh, she seems to be a bit of a shut in, she has a house she lives in at the edge of the city near a graveyard. For the most part it's said she is rather quiet and keeps to herself, but also wishes for a familia however her aura of death and decay is rather repulsive to normal people who instinctively fear death." Rose says reading over the paper.
Scratching my head I give a shrug. "Why not, better than all the other options I've had so far." I chuckle.
"Yeah, I didn't know the rest of the gods and goddess were this bad." Rose says with some disgust. There was a god of sex who spent his entire time having sex in the brothels and doing almost nothing else for example.
