((Author Note: This is a caution that the beginning of this book might move at a slower pace, with an abundance of details and explanations. It would take some effort to gain an understanding of the complex powers and system. However, the effort will eventually be worth it.))

August 28th

Year 2042

A young adult, who looked to be in his early twenties, was standing on the balcony of an expansive million-dollar mansion.

He had dark hair that complemented his midnight-colored eyes; he wore a mostly black hoodie with a touch of red.

As he looked down at the chaotic view of Tokyo, he let out a short laugh, "It shouldn't be too long now until I meet my end."

His name is Kazuki Kismet, a 21-year-old, is renowned globally as the fallen hero.

He wasn't always seen as a fallen hero; in fact, it all began about six years ago when he realized he had the power to manipulate probabilities to a great extent.

Probability manipulation is the ability that can be used to influence the outcome of a random event. It involves altering the probability of a given outcome by changing the chances or odds under which it is determined.

For example, if a coin is tossed, the probability of it landing heads is 50%. You can manipulate the probability of whether the coin lands on heads or tails by changing the odds. This can result in either a higher or lower chance of it landing on either heads or tails.

Therefore, altering the probability.

Not having any parents to rely on, due to a huge natural disaster occurring when he was born, Kazuki utilized his newfound capabilities to manipulate odds for his own gain.

He began modestly, exploiting his power to win lotteries, giving himself an edge and reducing the chances of others. However, he soon discovered that prolonged use of this ability put a strain on his mind, causing his brain to ache from the strain of such a powerful ability.

Over the course of two years, his ability to use his power became easier due to practice and adapting to the effects. His success led to him becoming a well-known billionaire in Tokyo, and he even used his abilities to help scientists in the search for a cure for cancer and other diseases, as well as evidence of extraterrestrial life.

His notoriety spread globally, making him the wealthiest man on the planet and a 'hero' for finding the previously unknown.

Nevertheless, that fame was short-lived.

Shortly after his rise to fame and fortune, disastrous events began occurring around the world. From asteroids, sightings of strange creatures and widespread chaos and disorder.

He increased the odds beyond the natural laws of physics and reality, however, this caused his power to grow wild and he was unable to prevent the resulting destruction that spread across the world.

In the end, he has become an enemy of humanity, tracked and pursued for years on end, yet his power and tactical brilliance have kept him from being captured or killed.

Kazuki gazed up at the moon, its luminescence casting a soft glow on his face as his eyes began to fill with tears.

"I see no reason to keep running anymore, considering there is nothing I can do to repair the damage that has been done. The world is in disarray, and countless lives are lost every day."

His voice was tinged with anguish, sorrow, and remorse.

"The universe is slowly falling apart, with asteroids crashing to the ground and the sun's temperature dropping. It's only a matter of time before the Earth meets its end."

'I acted as a hero out of a desire to receive admiration and affection from people.'

He laughed softly while using his right hand to wipe away his tears, "Now I stand here, weeping while I am remembered as the most despised person in history."

*Whack*

Kazuki heard the sound of the automatic doors sliding open behind him, causing him to release a quiet breath before turning to see who was coming closer with loud strides.

"So you finally came."

Kazuki spoke to the gentleman wearing a black professional outfit, who had neatly styled orange hair.

The man silently stared at Kazuki, gripping a Glock tightly with his right hand, and pointing it directly at his forehead.

"Shoto, we used to be such close friends, but now look at how far apart we are."

Shoto, who was Kazuki's closest friend, angrily clenched his teeth and shouted, "This is all your fault for putting the world in disorder!" He spoke with a hint of exasperation in his voice, "This is the only way to try and save the planet!"

Kazuki was aware that Shoto didn't desire this result, but it was the only solution.

Kazuki looked down at the floor before gazing intently into Shoto's eyes.

"So be it."

"But do you really believe that you alone could take me down?"

Shoto's gaze was intense and he said, "I'm not the smartest person, but I'm not without a brain either."

*BzzT*

The noise of military helicopters suddenly filled the air above the mansion, and Kazuki could see snipers from every direction targeting him with red laser sights.

The soldiers, armed with assault rifles, emerged from the bushes surrounding the mansion and the sound of armored tanks could be heard in the background.

Kazuki had a look of self-satisfaction on his face and his tone was cold. He asked Shoto, "Tell me Shoto, what do you think the chances are that you will win?"

Shoto looked at Kazuki for a few moments with no words spoken, then he withdrew his gun from Kazuki's forehead and shut his eyes.

"W-What are you doing?"

Shoto quietly spun around and went out the automatic doors, leaving Kazuki with a puzzled expression.

Kazuki shouted with rage, his body and hands trembling with movement and feeling, "Come back here and face me, you coward!" His voice was pained.

Shoto gazed downward as he took his walked slowly.

Kazuki became still, staying in place as the red lasers continued to track his every move.

His spirit plummeted as his mind raced with confusion. He felt completely helpless, with no idea of what to do next. With no hope of progress, he was left feeling completely stuck.

Kazuki looked back up at the moon, his face now displaying a wide grin that concealed his anguish.

"I give up."

He spoke in a gentle and soft voice.

*SHOOM*

Bullets flew through him from all angles, his body jerking in different directions as he was pierced with bullet holes and wounds.

The barrage of bullets finally ceased, and a brief stillness ensued before he slumped over the railing of the balcony.

*Splash!*

He plummeted into the pool that was on builded into the yard, his body making a loud splash when it hit the water. His blood quickly stained the pool a deep crimson color, spreading through the water with each passing second.

Kazuki had the ability to obliterate everyone and everything, but he realized that living had no purpose anymore since he had lost his last friend and any motivation he had left.

Kazuki's body rocked back and forth in the pool, his thoughts racing as images of his life passed through his mind.

He wasn't necessarily a bad person, but he started to doubt his noble intentions as he felt like he was being constantly pursued over the years.

Bubbles of air rose up towards the top of the pool as they descended into the depths.

With the little bit of mental capacity still available to him, his determination began to grow as he contemplated, 'If only I hadn't been so focused on what other people thought or how I could benefit from them, maybe things would be different now.'

'I-I want to start over, a life where I could do what I want for a change.'

Kazuki's fading mind and eventual closure of his eyes did not prevent his power from still working. His newfound drive and resolve to begin anew will guide him to a new beginning.

Kazuki's power was amplified to its fullest potential, making it impossible to resist the wishes he was hoping for, something he wouldn't have been able to do if he wasn't in the process of dying.

The odds of Kazuki being resurrected increased, reality and the passage of worlds were both affected as a result.

Kazuki was in the midst of life and death and was feeling tranquil within a boundless emptiness, until he started to be tugged out.

A surge of strain from his mind, and suddenly he felt as though he had been transported to a new place in an instant, although his vision was briefly impaired.

He rubbed his eyes, and brought his gaze into focus as a burst of sunlight and noise flooded his senses.

"Where Am I?"

"I thought I died."

*Chatter* *Chatter*

His confusion was apparent as he heard a strange language spoken all around him. His eyes widened in astonishment as he surveyed the unfamiliar scene before him.

He was in a quaint, rustic village, with wooden, old-fashioned buildings and people speaking an unknown dialect.

He observed that there were humans and peculiar creatures like dwarves, and even humans with animal characteristics, as well as plain old beastmen, among the people in the crowd.

He glanced around, his face a mask of fear and bewilderment, and shouted out loud, earning the attention of those around him. "What on earth is going on? Where am I?!"
