Bab 133: The Birthday Thing

Jade took off her jacket and sat on the sofa after returning from her meeting with Mara. She was really treated well by Mara according to her words. She thought Mara would take revenge on her for Max, but apparently, that was all Mara needed to talk about.

Shane came up with a drink for his mate. He sat down beside her and started to spread one hand behind Jade's head.

"What are you thinking about?" Shane asked.

"Hmm, nothing. It's just that Mara talked a lot about Max," Jade replied.

"And are you sorry?"

Jade's face wrinkled as she looked at Shane. "Regret for what? I have no reason to be sorry."

Shane was happy to hear that. At least that was what he wanted to know, whether Jade regretted it or not. Because if he knew that Jade was sorry for hurting Max, then things wouldn't go well.

Jade took a sip of the warm chocolate that Shane made then she put her head on Shane's lap. "I want to sleep before going to work. Can you wake me later?"
