Chapter 187: Preparations for the Games! (2)
~Silva K. POV~
[April 2, X791]
Listening to everyone busy training for the games they'll have their hands full trying to grasp the 7 years they've been gone.
And for me?
I haven't been to the Grand Magic Games myself because I promised to only participate when everyone was around.
Pretty selfish request but one that I'll gladly hold when the time comes for their return.
Walking down the streets of Magnolia Town I couldn't help but think what I should do next.
While walking down I sensed someone's magic power signature before responding a bit confused trying to get my attention, "Jellal?"
Walking around the correct path I soon see Jellal, Ultear, and Meredy. Meredy smirked once Jellal's Magic Power came down, "See Jellal? The guy would sense you out by drawing him out here."
I gave the 3 a deadpan expression in a neutral tone giving them an easier way, "You know you could've just asked."
Meredy chuckled as Jellal sighed finally responding to my reply in a neutral tone, "I apologize for the inconvenience but we hear you finally participating in the Grand Magic games correct Silva?"
Raising an eyebrow I curtly nodded as Ultear asked in a curious tone of the odd Magic in the area, "In that case have you noticed the odd Magic around the games then?"
Not denying it I shrugged giving them the answer hardening their eyes, "You mean Zeref's Magic? Then yeah."
Understanding my acknowledgment Jellal continued explaining agreeing with my assertion that this odd magic may be connected to Zeref, "It's just as we fear. Every year during the festival, we sense a very odd style of Magic."
Ultear nodded supporting Jellal's claim in understanding but gazing at me with hints of curiosity of how I knew, "We thought it was suspicious magic from previous games. But I can tell Zeref's Magic from anywhere meeting the cruel man… but how do you know it was Zeref specifically?"
Shrugging at this I replied I met the man during Mavis's grave in a calm tone giving them my reasoning as to why I didn't inspect it too much, "It was during the Trials meeting him at Mavis's grave leaving him when I had the chance. The magic he had was foul and strangely found the same thing around the games just didn't bother simply thought it was suspicious magic from previous games."
They nodded at my reasoning as Ultear continued to speak their mission surprising me, "We want to know what is behind that magic. We were given our orders to investigate it under King Fiore's orders."
My eyes widened surprised by who as Jellal explained further the purpose keeping me shocked by the news, "Correct. After seeing our handler Lahar over the years his Majesty trusted two Saint Wizard-level people on the job. Given the light of this news investigating the cause might clue to tracking down Zeref himself."
Meredy tilted her head cutely rooting for us to win anticipating our victory with me on the team in a confident tone, "Of course, this request has nothing to do with the games. We'll be rooting for Fairy Tail."
Wait…
I paused considering their words before I finally responded in a curious tone towards the group curiosity striking me giving the information, "Hold up. If this is so secretive then why have you guys come to see me?"
Realizing this Ultear began to explain to me as I crossed my arms wondering why they needed my confirmation, "You see other than a select few we betted that you had some connection or did not encounter Zeref. Meredy idea."
She had a smug grin on her face exclaiming in a proud tone, "And I called it!"
Scratching the back of my head I don't know what to feel being suddenly called like that knowing the situation without asking confused, "Okay so you bet that I may be connected? But why though?"
At this, Ultear sighed responding in a neutral tone to the issue, "Sigh… need I ask? Because trouble seems to follow you."
Huh?
Blinking surprised Jellal scratches the back of his head further supporting Ultear's claims with beads of sweat falling, "Of course. It seems like you have a knack of trouble following you sir Knights. It does seem like that to you."
Lifting a finger to disprove that lie I came up short of a few words.
Pausing placing my hand over my chin till I responded realizing their point, "Shit. You have a point."
Meredy smugly grinned at her victory as they turned around to leave talking to Jellal in a victorious tone, "Hehehe…! Redeem and week Jellal! Told you asking the guy would know what happens getting reliable info."
Jellal rolls his eyes but hands her jewels.
Poor bastard.
But before they left Ultear did give me one tip as they left me a job to do in a kind tone, "Oh! Almost forgot but his majesty requested that you would assist in this endeavor. Seemingly you know a lot of information regarding this know-it-all."
I rolled my eyes at her antics but I grinned seeing I would get the chance to ruin a bad guy's plans turning around, "Yeah, yeah. Tell his majesty no worries. I'll be there to oversee but I'll do things my way to get things done ya hear?"
They nodded understanding to part the message as I shook my head at them. I began to leave them alone considering what I should do next…
Hmm…
Maybe hang out with the other members to chill.
Pondering this idea closing my fist and opening it I thought out loud walking down the streets of Magnolia Town, "Wonder how the games will go this time around with everyone here?"
Walking down the streets I began to wave and say hello to the folks coming my way on what to do next.
I trained hard and even needed to do more. But the question is should I just deal with the remaining threats solo?
I mean I'm powerful already to pull that off. Although I wonder… Bah.
Shaking my head, I know I'm strong. I just wonder if my enemies are too weak for me to confront.
Walking down the streets I noticed the Thunder Tribe and Strauss Family packing things up as I caught them talking to them in a curious tone, "Oh? Seems like you guys are already heading out to train for the Grand Magic Games?"
Turning their gazes towards me they nodded as Elfman was the first to thank me for paying their rents for the past 7 years, "Yeah man! We heard how much you've done for the guild with your clone. And paying up for each of us our rent we seriously don't know how to repay you for it."
Scratching the back of my head at Elfman's claim I sheepishly brush it off in a lighthearted tone, "Nah man. It was the least I could do for you guys stuck in the sphere at the time. Had to make sure you guys have a home to return to after all."
To my surprise though Mira suggested something that made me doubt my life out of her mouth surprising the group with her genuine tone, "Okay then mister how about this? I'll take you on a date after the Grand Magic Games. Hopefully, you join the other team and deal. Teehee…"
I don't like the way she licked her lips lightly.
*Shiver*
I felt a chill run down my spine making me feel not-so-good feelings.
The group soon walked away hearing Laxus from an earshot muttering as he shook his head almost pitying me, "Oh that poor bastard. Hope he wins otherwise the loser of the team must face the punishment game."
Why the heck would I pay – crap. I froze on the spot. I recognized immediately what Mira meant since this happened in canon. Oh bloody, hell.
Memories of Mira humiliating Erza spanking her ass for the world to see in a maid outfit immediately comes to mind….
My expression turns serious as I mutter to myself in a serious tone, "I need the grind."
I need to grind leveling up.
I suppose I should do 'that' method. A clear farming method to increase my levels… Yes, the 'Demon' farm is a go.
Using <AOE> to create a compass leading me to where my heart desires it's time to torture some demons. And this will be free of charge.
Preparing my nerves, it's time to meet the Tartaurs. The purge of demons (except Natsu and Mira of course) is at hand.
Time for a holy war. The grind shall not be stopped!
I'm going to enjoy this too much than I should.
Muhahaha!!!

~Third POV~
Tartaros is one of the three most powerful Dark Guilds in the world, forming a third of the former Balam Alliance, alongside Oración Seis and Grimoire Heart for its time. Being comprised mostly of Etherious, Demons from the Books of Zeref, Zeref refers to the guild as his bookshelf.
Silva finds himself at the location finding the Main Tartaros building from a distance coldly smirking down upon the demons.
The Tartaros guild convenes in a large building located in what appears to be a barren wasteland. Standing among the rocky landscape, the building takes the form of a giant, slightly ruined, castle.
The structure itself is very big, containing at least three separate sections all atop one another. The two main bodies of the castle are noticeably square and decorated with numerous crenulations, whilst the turrets and roof of the castle are more curved, their balustrade lined with decorative machicolations and their spires topped with fancy ornaments.
At the gate to the castle stand two large statues. Surrounding the Tartaros headquarters and protruding from the rock are a number of spines, these appearing quite large in size. Whether they are part of the natural landscape or were put there is unknown.
Observing the situation Silva muttered to himself quietly detecting the presence of demons closer to his location, "<Observe>."
[Cube Lv.50 Zeref's Demons]
[Location: Cube
Description: Serving as home to Mages of Tartaros, Cube is a massive, buoyant cubed island that harbors several rocky terrains spread about on its surface. The largest structure is, undoubtedly, one of its many landscapes accommodating Tartaros' headquarters.]
This castle itself is located on a floating island, named, as well as shaped like a Cube.
The demons approaching Silva's location arrogantly responded to him, "You inferior filthy human – !"
However, once the demons recognized the strongest mage landed on their territory all the color was drained from their faces as Silva responded playfully, "Ah…. I did promise myself to make you guys my EXP farm one day. Guess it's a good time as any to start the grind. But please make this entertaining."
Chapter 188: Preparations for the Games! (3)
~Third POV~
*BOOOOM*
*SPLAT*
*BOOOM*
A raging battle could be heard as the demons of Tartaros were being slaughtered without remorse as Silva's replicas began to take care of the issue without post haste and with extreme violence.
The battle occurring outside managed to draw attention to even their leader Mard Geer Tartaros an Etherious and founder of the Dark Guild Tartaros. He is known as the Underworld King and the Definitive Demon, having placed himself in charge of the guild in E.N.D.'s absence.
Sitting upon his throne room he expresses displeasure seeing the destruction that's being caused without remorse or intent behind the man they are faced with.
Mard Geer along with his forces of the core members of his guild. The Nine Demon Gates are the elite team of the Dark Guild Tartaros.
The Nine Demon Gates comprise the core members of Tartaros and, as its name implies, nine members form this team. They are very powerful as one of its members, stated that all of the Nine Demon Gates' members are Demons from the Books of Zeref.
Each member except for the living corpse Silver Fullbuster has a unique curse power to themselves that doesn't revolve around Magic. Each frightening against them in a one-on-one fight.
Kyôka a Demon with distinct avian features who makes use of a body-manipulating Curse.
Jackal a Demon who utilizes an incredibly dangerous Curse that creates fiery and catastrophic explosions.
Tempester is a Demon with a lion-like face who utilizes a Curse that allows him to control, summon, create, and fight various natural disasters.
Franmalth is a Demon with an armored, round body; his Curse involves the absorption and manipulation of souls.
Torafuzar is a Demon with a distinct shark-like look and stern personality that makes use of his bladed arms for armed combat and a Curse that summons poisonous, lethal water.
Ezel is a volatile Demon with an inhuman appearance, bearing four arms and six tentacles for legs. His Curse makes use of his multiple limbs, effectively turning them into swords.
Seilah is a gold-horned, female Demon that makes use of a Curse that grants her absolute control over every person or every object she seeks to impose her will onto.
Keyes is a monk-like Demon with a skeletal face and a Magical Barrier Particle-based body; he wields a khakkhara and specializes in necromancy that controls Silver Fullbuster.
Each of them expressed arrogance but the smarter ones had grim expressions on how to go against the Strongest Mage Silva Knights. The fame of his completing the longest-existing request was heard throughout the continents each having heard stories of his tales.
Tales that they shouldn't casually dismiss against such a foe. Usually, the demons would be the ones to terrorize the humans, not the other way around how did Silva's forces manage to brutally slaughter their members with such ease?
Mard Geer analyzed the threat carefully gazing at the distance from his Video Lacrima as Jackal growls in contempt, "Grr… Master Mard Geer, why are we waiting against this inferior human? We should just go in and attack him already!"
Mard Geer's eyes gaze upon Jackal's response freezing up in fear as Seliah responds in a respectful tone, "Mard Geer are we positive that us alone are enough to deal against this single human slaughtering the demons below? Surely, he'll realize the futility that our brethren will come out again revived."
The others nodded in agreement as they can't normally die in the traditional sense. Not so long as they have their Hell's Core available to them.
Hell's Core is located somewhere in the floating island Cube, Hell's Core is used as a laboratory where Demons are born, and also reborn if the case of their dying comes to pass. But for them to be revived again they need to be in a contract made with the Underworld King, making Tartaros an immortal Guild.
However, Mard Geer may be arrogant against humans. But his no fool against people his cautious towards very powerful foes example Acnologia, Dragon, or powerful mages.
And Silva Knights certainly entered that category infamously known by the Trickster of Fairies. He's usually known for his wits or cunning against powerful foes and this wasn't any different for him.
Yet…
Mard Geer questioned something out loud pondering Silva's recent attack out of nowhere getting the Nine Gates's attention, "Why doesn't he simply blow up our Guild? He has done so in the past what makes this one any different."
Upon listening to his words a sense of unease crawled through their spines at the thought. They always referred to humans as weaklings but for someone like Mard Geer to be cautious of Silva Knights made them reconsider second thoughts….
However, that lasted a second before Franmalth yelled out heading out to face against Silva confident in his Curse Power <Absorption Curse>, "Why must we be careful of this puny human!! It's an insult! I'll personally go forth to take care of him myself with my Curse it shall be easy!!"
Storming off Mard Geer allowed Franmalth to do as he pleased as the other Nine Gates waited patiently as Franmalth went forward outside…
/////
*BOOOM*
*SPLAT*
*BOOOOM*
*CRUNCH*
Despite his earlier claims a sense of unease washed down the demon's back marching forward yet not met with any resistance narrowing his eyes forward as he thought, 'They're not even bothering attacking or greeting me with resistance…. No something is very off. They slaughter my blood in brutality yet for I though allowing me to meet their leader...'
The sense of unease only continued as Silva was within distance as Franmalth ignored it finding the man casually playing Jenga between himself and Rider, "Hmm… I'll take –"
*Tmp*
However, the game of Jenga soon fell apart as Franmalth began to openly announce himself while activating his <Absorption Curse>, "Now tremble before – Ack!"
*Shinng*
Before he could proceed Silva swiftly glared at Franmalth slashing his nerves and leaving him with his mind functioning alone in his head. But the remaining portions of his body are unresponsive shown by Silva's hand a single small pocketknife showing off his <Sword Mastery> skills.
Silva had years to train and grind his skills. The one he went to MAX level capacity was his swordsmanship reaching the maximum level he could within this world.
Reaching a point where a simple pocketknife or butterknife alone to cause a <Spatial Slash> was enough to end most enemies simply to prove one point to them. They were vastly inferior and mocked them not even using a real blade to end fights.
Upon getting his first unfortunate victim that was left defenseless smirking coldly, "Ah… a volunteer. And a soul manipulator Cursed User too huh?"
His eyes glinted with curiosity as he began to conjure up using his <AOE> to create a mechanical contraption in the shape of a cylinder. It has a cable to connect a target along with two rods on the other end that allow the channeling of the energy.
Readily equipping his crippled target unable to stop the process as Silva responded in a lighthearted tone, "You Demons sure are lucky to use Cursed Power. I tried searching for the means for a human to use them but no such luck in this or other dimensions thus far. That left me with plan B to deal with you guys."
Despite Franmalth's unable to respond Silva finished connecting the machine as he turned it on speaking to him, "So then…. How would you feel if you lost your Curse Power <Absorption Curse>?"
*Shiii*
The machine activated as inside Franmalth mind trembled what Silva had in mind as he continued to speak calmly, "So…. How do you feel losing your strength to the Vox Peniculus? Used to belong to a tyrant alien warlord. Meh. What does it matter I'll get your guy's abilities soon enough."
*Sheeeee*
The Vox Peniculus activated as the powers changed between the two Silva smirked as his screen window popped up viewing the skill had been successfully taken as Franmalth's mind went scared.
Silva slowly muttered to himself away from Franmalth's earshot in an excited tone, "Skill List."
----
<Absorption Curse> (Active) Lv.1/100 Exp: 0.0%
MP Cost: Varies
Description: This Curse grants the user the ability to absorb the souls of living beings as well as of Magic through touch. Conveniently, the user is also able to stretch their body parts, such as the limbs, to long proportions, even being able to form spikes from their back and arms, which gives them a large range in which they can then manipulate the extensions and latch them into a target's body, draining them of their soul and their Magic Power and absorbing them for themselves. The user can also have others absorb them.
----
Silva satisfied with the process done observed Franmalth shivering in his thoughts placing his foot over his head and responding coldly, "You demons plagued people for a verrrrrry long time. So much sin because you do as you please huh? When you reincarnate again in your fancy little Hell's Core tell your little buddies to come. Come with everything you have. It will all be the more satisfying to destroy your will. I'll break your spirit wishing to die by your own hands than mine."
*SQUEASHED*
Crushing the demon's head and fading out into particles Silva sighed taking a seat and taking the time to practice his own <Absorption Curse> of the fallen demons in a scientific tone, "I wonder if I can use this as my private battery? Or Sacred gears like DxD dimension? No would it be Cursed Gears though, but the name is up for debate…"
/////
*CRACK*
Mard Geer crushed the video lacrima his eyes hardening unleashing his killing intent voicing his disdain for Silva's actions, "That human dared to steal our Cursed Power…. This violation shall not go unopposed. This human shall learn the meeting of despair."
The Nine Demon Gates all shuddered by their leader overwhelming rage and bloodlust clear along with his Cursed Pressure unleashed on them.
They trembled slightly in fear of Mard Geer's presence before calming down with a hardened glare responding in a hateful tone, "This human. Strongest Mage or not will die by our hands no matter what. Not even he would be strong against the full might of Tartaros."
Everyone nodded in agreement preparing for their fight against Silva.
Unfortunately, though sneaking passes them wearing No May Face the King – Faceless King and Shroud of Shadows taking the book named 'E.N.D.' out of Mard Geer's grasp once he lost himself in his anger in a split second replaced with a fake.
Silva Replica Assassin completed his objective of capturing the book so as not to accidentally kill Natsu as the original dealing with Mard Geer acting as a distraction.
/////
Returning to the original Silva using his <AOE> he grinned conjuring the Doomslayer armor and cracking his knuckles together against the demons, "Ahh… we have volunteers! Please do come while I have the boss music play. Have you guys ever heard…"
*Cue the DOOM Theme playing*
*BOOOM*
Jumping up-armored with his weapons and blades Silva yelled charging towards the petrified demons unleashing his <Bloodlust> skill directed at them, "DOOOOOOOM SLAYER!!!"
What happened next in the following months Silva promised as he first came to this world. He'll make those demons his EXP farm. All for the grind to RIP and TEAR.
