Bab 24: SIX YEARS AGO
"Party? No, I can't" I muttered and Reggie frowned.
"Why not? Everyone in school would be there" he said. Exactly, that's the reason I'm not going.
They never liked me to be part of their parties, besides I wouldn't fit in.
"I'm not —I'm busy" I shrugged trying to play it off. Going to a party where half of the school was attending was a hard core for me.
So, no. I would pass.
"You're doing nothing Charl" Reggie pointed out and I heaved.
"See, we're two different persons. They need you there and I'm not needed there" I muttered and his frown deepened.
He stood up walking to my window, his hands tucked into his pockets.
His jaw lines were smooth, his eyes more beautiful. How does he manage to look good every day?
How does he feel at ease with himself, like nature was on his side?
And then again, his parents had really good genes and he was lucky to partake in. Have you seen his mum? He definitely took her eyes and lips.
And posture and jawline and nose and the rest of it from his dad. He was just beautiful.
"Well, I need you there" he said turning around fast enough to catch me staring.
I chewed on my lower lip, looking away.
"Stop doing that, you're been calculative again" he said reaching out to free my bottom lip from my teeth.
I sighed.
"I'm at home, you can still—"
"Come with me Charl. What the fuck are you hiding from?" he muttered shoving his fingers into his hair.
Going with Reggie won't make things easier, it would infact make things harder for me. I knew it but I still promised, because I just couldn't turn him down.
"You're using a bad word" I sighed, trying to hide my smile.
"The fuck i am" his eyes shone and I chuckled shaking my head.
"Fine, I would come with you" I said and his face lit up.
"—just this once" I added and he nodded smiling at me and revealing those deep dimples I wanted to poke my finger into.
God, why was he so beautiful? It wasn't fair for a guy to look this good and me?
I shook my head just as he pulled me in for a hug.
"I promise" he whispered. I said nothing just sniffing in his scent. If I'd probably known, I wouldn't have gone.
