She wanted to stop depending on him emotionally too but it was proving to be quite difficult when he was the one who showed her that she could also be loved and cherished.

Thankfully, Edric didn't ask anymore and simply comforted her until she calmed down.

Only once Loreen had stopped crying did he ask, "Did something happen?" 

Loreen glanced up and was met by his worried gaze.

It was so unfair how such gaze still warmed her heart and made her want to stay in his arms forever.

"I opened the phone and just read all the messages I didn't read.

I saw the daily updates our maids had sent me about your condition.

I saw how much of your blood was spilled on floor."

She shuddered at the thought again.
