Bab 66: Chapter 66 - Undead Mage
Two weeks later, Zach has already traveled quite a distance from his shelter. He has been to different places, like lakes and fields in the forest. He also killed several Undead and from time to time met different kinds of beasts that looked like rabbits, but they were quite weak compared to an ordinary Undead.
Right now, Zach could be found having lunch quietly below the tree. He's eating the meat from the Rabbits that he had killed which was pretty delicious like the Mutated Deer he slayed back on Earth. However, he thought that they might become more delicious if survivors with a Chef class would prepare them, so he only took a small portion of it and took everything back to his inventory.
In two weeks, Zach has accumulated a lot of new items however, aside from the bronze-class items he could get from the bronze-class monsters, all other things are no longer useful to him. Still, he puts them back into his inventory as the survivors in Eden might need them.
Eating peacefully below the tree, Zach suddenly stopped for a second as he shifted his attention toward a particular direction. Though it was faint, he was certain that he heard something in the distance. However, upon using the system ability, he immediately lost interest upon seeing it only showing a yellow color which means that it was nothing dangerous.
"Heelpppp!!!"
"Helppppp mee!!!"
"Hmmm. A human." A loud voice echoed throughout the forest and from the words it said Zach could tell that it came from a human. With that, he then just finished his food and stood up as he couldn't just sit still if another person was in danger. Also, he wanted to know where he came from since it's been a week and only traveling this far did he meet another person.
Heading toward the direction where the voice came from, Zach ran quickly, and with his current Agility, he immediately arrived at the source. There he saw a man running for his life while being chased by three ordinary-class Smashers and several ordinary Undead.
Seeing Zach in the distance, the man was quite relieved thinking that somebody had come to help him even though he was just alone however, the expression on his face suddenly turned surprised and sour after seeing him suddenly disappear which he thought that he must be having illusion because his death was already ahead.
Little did the man imagine that after taking several steps, he heard something shrieking on his back. He tried to see what was happening and there he saw Zach appear facing all the Undead that was coming after him. He stopped running and watched Zach kill them with his sword and he kind of felt like he was watching a fantasy movie.
After only a minute, all the Undead had been killed leaving Zach to start looting the dropped items on the ground before walking towards the man. He would now start questioning him as he was curious as to why he was being chased since it hardly happened seeing three Smasher at the same time.
"Hey! Who are you and where did you come from? Is there a shelter near here?" Zach immediately asked however, the man just kept on looking at him as if he had seen a ghost.
"R-Right. I'm Kamir. Wait. Please help us. The shelter I came from has been attacked. Please." The man introduced himself before immediately grabbing Zach's shoulders while pleading. After seeing how Zach killed the monsters, he felt like he could help their shelter and save the residents living inside of it.
Zach, however, looked at Kamir and felt like he was sincere about his words. He then just took away his hand before giving him a smile because finally, it meant that there was a shelter around the area and a number of residents must be living inside of it.
"Lead the way." Zach said.
Hearing Zach, Kamir's eyes sparkled and he immediately ran back to where he came from while feeling hopeful that Zach could really help them since if not, then it would be the end of their shelter.
It did not take long before they arrived and Zach saw how chaotic the shelter had become after seeing the place look like a battlefield seeing a group of people fighting for their lives as they fend off the Undead that was attacking them.
Looking at the situation, Zach felt like their Shelter Protective Shield must have been destroyed seeing most of the monsters attacking them had over level 25 since he could tell that their shelter was just a bronze class unlike his.
Also, Zach was quite surprised that they could still fight even against the odds which only means that they might have leveled up quite a bit in the time that they were still building their base however, he could also tell that they would soon be annihilated because aside from the monster around, he could see a number of ordinary Smasher and Glutton, and most especially a new type of Undead that Zach never saw which was also a bronze class.

Zach saw its information and he couldn't help but be surprised thinking that there was that kind of Undead however looking at its appearance where it could be found wearing a robe while holding a staff in its hand, he felt like he really looked like a mage from the games he had played before.
"F-Fuck. The shelter was already being breached. It's over." Kamir said while holding his head in one hand while holding the weapon he had tightly in the other while looking at his companions being surrounded by a huge group of Undead.
"Tell your co-residents to hold on and continue fighting. I'll deal with the Undead that seems to be its leader." Zach said before he started moving. He knew that the Undead Mage was marked as dangerous by the system but he didn't care since all mage he knew have a fatal weakness and that they were not strong in melee.
Zach thought that this type of monster would be a piece of cake to him because of the way he fights where he uses Stealth to assassinate them and the fact that his wearing overpowered items.
Zach, however, just needed to get cautious of the ordinary Undead Soldiers that seemed to surround the Undead Mage as if they were some kind of bodyguard. Using Stealth, he immediately disappeared and sprinted towards the Undead Mage as he could no longer wait to kill it thinking what kind of items it would drop.
On the other hand, Kamir was stupefied by what Zach just said since he felt like it was suicide to face the leader alone but he couldn't understand why he was also feeling hopeful that he could do it. Placing his bets on Zach, he then just entered the battlefield while shouting to his co-resident that he had come back with help.
Meanwhile, Zach could now be found close to the Undead Mage, however, he still didn't take action as he felt like it had noticed him. So, taking out Spirit Vials on his inventory, he then replenishes his Spirit not wanting his Stealth skill to stop since the first strike to an assassin is the most important thing.
Suddenly, the opportunity opened up by itself after a sound of explosion came from where the survivors were fighting and it took the Undead Mage and its Undead Soldiers' attention towards it.
Without hesitation, Zach sprinted and passed the Undead Soldiers as he only had one target and that was the Undead Mage but all his preparation was all for naught after he saw it suddenly took a glance in his direction and there he saw a fire suddenly building upon its staff.
Zach didn't know how it sensed his presence despite being in Stealth mode but he didn't stop as it was now the battle between who was faster and he was pretty sure that he was one step ahead of the Undead Mage as he was already on the range where his sword could reach it's body.
Swinging the Battle Sword, Zach saw it reach the Undead Mage's shoulder and it continued to cut down to its body. It was something to be happy about however, as it did not kill the Undead Mage immediately, it gave it some time and there he saw it pointed its staff towards him.
Zach saw the Survival Line from the system but he knew that there was no way he could dodge it seeing it very close to him however, it didn't stop him from thinking so he let go of his sword as he grabbed the cloak he was wearing to cover himself as it was too late to take out the Savage Shield from his inventory.
….Boom….
The ball of fire hit Zach, and it caused him to fly several meters away however, he immediately stood up and got his composure back while being surprised that he really took it without taking any serious and fatal damage.
With that, Zach then just takes off the Night Cloak he was wearing seeing it already on fire. He couldn't help but smile widely thinking that being overgeared really was the best upon seeing his Night Cloak and the armor he was wearing within must have blocked the attack.
Zach then just looked at the Undead Mage in the distance and saw it still alive though it was probably dying seeing his sword still buried in its body. Seeing its situation, he immediately dashed forward so he could finally put an end to it but he needed to deal with the Undead Soldiers that were already running towards him after he undo his Stealth.
This time, Zach took out the Savage Shield from his inventory before running to face the Undead Soldiers. He saw one of them already swinging its sword towards him and so he blocked it with his shield before cutting the Undead with his sword.
Zach then just did the same to the other Undead Soldier around however, when he was about to kill the last one, he saw the Survival Line once again and saw a fireball coming towards his direction which he immediately put his up shield to protect himself.
…..Boom….
The fireball hit Zach but the Savage protected him and it didn't give any damage to him aside from being pushed back a little. Taking out his shield to see the Undead Mage in the distance, he then cut off the last Undead Soldier coming to him as he dashed towards the Undead Mage.
Zach saw it casting a fireball again, but it was already too late as he cut off his hand that was holding the staff before ending it by slicing its head. With that, he saw it fall down on the ground and three shining items came out of it.

Zach still wasn't in the mood to celebrate as he immediately took the dropped items and headed towards the other battle to help Kamir and the residents defend the shelter they had and it only took a couple of minutes before the place became quiet.
The shelter was completely filled with dead bodies of both Undead and humans though most of them were the former. A lot of items were also lying on the ground waiting for the survivors to pick them up but no one was making a move first as they all could be found looking at Zach.
"Thank you for helping and saving us." A tall and bulk man took the initiative to come closer to Zach as he had witnessed how he killed the ones who were giving them a hard time. He could tell that Zach was younger than him but respect no longer applied only to the old man as the world right now favors those who had the strongest fist.
"No problem. You should thank Kamir as he coincidentally met me while I was around taking a rest." Zach replied while looking at the man in front of him who really looked so intimidating just with his physique alone as he felt like he was a person who would always go to the gym or something.
"Yeah. By the way, I'm Omar and I thank you once again for saving us. Though the place was nearly destroyed, still, welcome to Undead Forest Shelter." Omar introduced himself and welcomed Zach to the shelter after feeling very grateful for his help.
Following that, Omar then introduced the people around him and asked Zach to stay in the shelter so he could treat him to a meal. Zach, on the other hand, didn't decline as he also wanted to know them so he planned on staying for a while to see what kind of people they were and which country they had come from.
